Sentinel, The 1987, Firebird

One of the most unique games ever made. Short, but very steep learning curve. Extremely slick combination of strategy and thinking on your feet. The C64 version was almost identical. The USA release of both games were titled "The Sentry". Plays on a keyboard, runs great on a C64 emulator, highest recommendations.

You are in a remote controlled robot. You need to destroy "The Sentinal", (or "The Sentry"), and his minions. Your only ability is absorbing energy and creating Rocks, Trees and more robots. You can transfer your control from one robot to another.

You can only absorb Trees/Robots and Enemies if you can target the square they are standing on. (Boulders can be absorbed anytime you can see them). The basic idea is to absorb trees for more energy, build boulders, put a robot on top and transfer to it to get high enough to absorb more trees and absorb enemies. When you finally absorb the Top Sentry/Sentinal, you build a robot in its spot, transfer to it and hit the hyperspace button to continue to the next level, (a Code will appear, this unlocks one of 10,000 levels, you will need a way to write down and save these codes).

This game is worth the time to learn, it still holds up as a highly playable game.
