After buying a second hand C64 I got a bunch of games with it and Bubble Dizzy was among them.
I instantly fell in love with the game, so naturally I tried it out on other machines as well. Although the Amiga version is better then most of them, it's not as good as the C64 one!
So what's the game about?
You're Dizzy (a dizzy little egg) and you're at the bottom of the sea. You need to jump from bubble to bubble in order to make it to the surface and the next level. Your bubble may burst at any given time and you'd be sinking back to the bottom. If you're lucky one of the friendly underwater animals would help you out (let you stand on it), although most of them will just waste your valuable oxygen.
And that seems to be it. I'm really missing the pirate making you walk the plank at the beginning of each level. I know it doesn't sound much of a plot, but then you'd at least know what on earth is Dizzy doing at the bottom of the sea.
The game is still fun and worth a try, but if you really wish to enjoy it, get the one for the good old breadbox!

The animation is smooth and the graphics are OK, but they seem somewhat dark. Also I'm missing the pirate making you walk down the plank at the beginning of each level!

The background music is OK, but not nearly as catchy as the C64 one. It's more or less just some background noise, but it won't bother you.

A very simple idea, easy-to-use controls, starts rather easy but gets more and more challenging... It's all it should be. Now if only there was a warning of some sort before the bubble would burst, otherwise - excellent.

| A good game, that lost something while being ported to the Amiga. You could still enjoy it, but it's not nearly as addictive as the C64 version. |
