Brutal Sports Series Football 1993, Millennium
In the minds of many Amiga-veterans, "Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe" is considered one of the greatest Amiga games ever made. If you love that game, I highly recommend you try "Brutal Sports Series Football".

Although you probably won't rate it as highly as "Speedball 2", I'm sure you'll like it alot. "Brutal Sports" offers hours of fun and contains a lot of violent graphics. Definitely put the kids to bed before playing this, it might get ugly!

In "Brutal Sports Series Football" you play American football but with a twist. Your team is a horde of strong Vikings ready to battle to the death.

The cool thing about this game is that there are no rules! You don't need to have most goals to win. You can try to kill all your opponents before time runs out. Punch them to death with your fist, cut their head of with a sword (or block their attacks with a shield), throw bombs at them, kick them senseless while they lay unconscious and so much more! Sounds cool huh? Well, it's as cool as it sounds!

There are four options to choose from before you start a match:

League - In league you strive to become the ultimate champion. Starting in the weakest division fighting your way up to the strongest. But beware the opponents on the highest divisions are much tougher. In league, cash is involved, it is important to win matches to earn cash so you can resurrect and heal your wounded team, this is a great touch as it makes you feel like the coach of the team also). (There is no 2-player mode in league.)

Unfriendly - Play a single match or be the first to win three against a computer or a human player.

Challenge - Eight teams will battle each other. If you lose, you're eliminated. eight will decrease to four teams left in a semi-final. There can only be two teams left in the final. Last one standing wins! Up to 8 players can play "Challenge". It's a great deal of fun!

Password - Continue a previous league game where you stopped. You will get a password between every match in a league. Type the password to continue your game.

Well, there isn't much more to say. You should give it a try or two if you haven't. It's a hell-of-a-lot of fun, and it's good for a laugh of two. Especially with friends!

Review Summary
GRAPHICS: 8 / 10
The game offers good graphics.

The longer you play during a match, the more the court will be more filled with blood, dirt, filth etc. It's brilliant!

SOUND: 8 / 10
Lots of life. The crowd is always cheering, especially after a goal or if someone gets hurt/killed.

The players on the court breathes, shouts "HERE! pass the ball!", makes battle cries and lots of groaning.

There are also fanfare music when the match starts and after a goal.

"Brutal Sports" has most of the sound effects you could ask for in a game. GREAT JOB!

PLAYABILITY: 8 / 10
It's a fun and entertaining game for a couple of hours. Especially on 2-Player mode.

The problem with 1-Player mode is that the computer player is too easy to beat when you become more experienced with this game.
You will NEVER lose if you do the best you can. But it is still a lot of fun.

The match is intense, brutal, deadly and full of life. And at the same time it's hilarious. It couldn't have been much better then this.

But there is one disadvantage: The slow screen-scrolling kinda ruins the intense action somewhat.

OVERALL: 8 / 10
As I said, if you like "Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe", you might like this too.
