(CD32 Version) Fury of the Furries is a great game, with some brilliant music by Frederic Motte and an excellent playability value. I remember playing this for hours on the Amiga 500, so this was the first game I bought for my CD32.
The CD32 version could have been better, literally all they have done is put the A500 version on a disc. The only benefits of the CD copy is that the music in the intro has improved and a new title screen track has been made (The Amiga 500 version just played Lagoon's track in the menu). This is all very nice, but it really does show how little effort went into this port. I love Frederic Motte's soundtrack, and would have loved to hear him come back to rerecord and improve on them using the new audio power of the CD32. Instead we got a new track for the title screen which, although a nice track, is hardly a fitting upgrade for the extra space on the disc.
The gameplay is the same, extremely fun and often challenging, even if it does get a little tired after a few hours (Luckily the save function allows you to turn it off and replay from where you left off). Overall a game well worth owning if you don't already but other than saving you from disc-swapping (The A500 is on 4 discs) there's not much incentive to upgrade if you already own the original.

Good and really functional, but the CD32 should have seen to improving this. Great enough for A500, disappointing for CD32.

I love the soundtrack to this, it's sublime. That's why I would have loved to hear Motte come back and rerecord the tracks for the CD32. Unfortunately he didn't, but because the originals were so good it's not a big issue.

Excellent fun to play for an hour or so at a time, but it does get tiresome after that period. The save feature saves that from being too big an achilles heel.

| A superb A500 game, shows great games don't need upgrades to be tremendous fun. Having said that, the lack of upgrades is really disappointing and that has taken it's score down slightly. |
