A true classic. The first game in which you get to chop the head off a computer player or... your friend.
The game is simple. Two warriors fight. One leaves the arena alive.
Hit your opponent more and more lethal than it hits you.
When you hit your opponent the blood really splatters and you'll hear real sounds of violence.
I used to play the C64 before I encountered this one. The graphics did not improve that much. Only the backgrounds where updated. But the sounds where somewhat more impressive compared to the C64 version.
Overall I was impressed by the Amiga version of this game.
It is a very straight forward game. When playing against the computer each time you survive you advance to the next level. You re-enter the arena with full health but against a better opponent.
Sadly the hall of fame allows only for a 2 letter initial.
I think this game is a true classic and is of good quality for it's time.
Don't miss it. There is even a WHDLoad version available.

Graphics are good for its time. The warriors look as if they were taken straight of the C64 version. This decreases it's score in my opinion.
I was impressed by the backgrounds and the snakes on both sides

The sound of metal and cries of pain I found very impressive at the time. Of course I was used to the C64 version.
You hear the head of your or your opponent's player bump on the ground when it comes off. Very .....nice.

Compared to the C64 version I find the Amiga version less playable. It takes a little more effort to get good against a computer player.
After a little practice you get to know most of the moves.

| Don't miss out on this one. Be sure to play it against a friend in two player mode. Good for a couple of laughs. |
