Ever liked Driller, Total Eclipse or Castle Master and wanted to make your own games like them? With Incentive's 3D Construction Kit package, you can.
3D Construction Kit makes use of the Freescape game engine, made famous by Driller in 1987. Using it, you can make your own games, environments, models and even your dream home.
The package features a VHS tape presented by Incentive boss Ian Andrew, who shows the user how to get started on both the Amiga and Spectrum versions. This was a 30 minute tape which was well presented but is hard to find these days.
Freescape doesn't just involve building environments, it features its own programming language which will let you deal with bits and pieces of the world including animation and moving from room to room.
3D Construction Kit includes a 3D Kit Game which featured as a playable demo on magazines as a game in itself. The 3D Kit Game is a nice resonable size game with good presentation and puzzles, which is a nice example of what you can use the 3D Construction Kit for.
After you finish your game and environment, you can use the compiler to put it together into a bootable disk. You can either use the 3D Kit border or the border as used in Driller or design your own.
You can change colours and add sounds to increase the presentation of your game or enviroment. In conclusion, this is a very good game production tool.

A lot of colour is used here and the presentation is very good. All the icons are very easy to see.

Basic sounds like in the Freescape games. The sounds aren't bad, but not something I would use a lot.
