I have this Made in China TAC-2 that is behaving really badly. The stick is all wonky with little to no resistance to movement. I guess the rubber doughnut has worn a bit or something. Is there anything to do to fix this (spare parts maybe) or is it unsalvageable?
Thanks for reply. The video is from the US model and mine is the Chinese. The hard part seems to take out the stick from the chassis since it seems to be one piece. Haven't used that much force but perhaps I will. Wires are ok (black ground wire attached to the stick is removeable).
It's a real puzzle. The orignal, the ball just unscrewed. On the copies it's attached (spot weld?) to the end of the shaft.
If you can work out a way to unscrew the metal shaft from the plastic upper, maybe you could put together an upgrade kit for people in a similar situation.
Perhaps the upper plastic collar is glued to the plastic shaft. That would keep it in place? And then the metal part is glued to the plastic shaft inside the collar.
Good luck. There's quite a few people with a similar problem.
