When we played this in 2013 I couldn't break 100k, so my target this round is to beat that, break the Black 7. Really interested to see how many people play this.

It's nice to have such a simple game to play for this round, where you don't need to invest hours or put serious time aside to then just fall short of your last score. Refreshing. got to Brown 1 with a ...

Back in the day I could get a black belt in this game, it will be interesting to see how the reflexes are now after some 30 years.

There are multiple black belts, you get the first one already at 50k which is not a huge accomplishment.
At 130k (or 120k?) you get the highest grade (also a black belt) which is called MEGAHERO (cringe) in the highscore-table.
That'd be a real incentive to get or else people might stop playing this once they reach 50k.

That's not even in the manual. Well remembered.

It should be the top belt for the star. Not easy but a few could make it, 4 did last time. I'll update it again.

I know why it is "Megahero". That's the top rank in Archer's (Much bettter) game Dropzone. :) References ahoy!

Did badly at bonus rounds, came second a lot, grinded it out to level 37(!). It's odd, if I relax and try less hard I score less but get further.

Here is my score after a couple of tries. Nice to at least get to green. I think I usually get to purple and no further. Probably someone will paste a screenshot to prove me wrong, but I'm no expert.

This isn't like any other beat em up, in that the AI learns from your moves, and blocks them. One tip is to save the floor sweep move until later in the game, for the hard enemies, as then they aren't expecting it. From the first screen I go for flying kicks, as it doesn't matter if they learn to block those. I guess I really should start with head-butts, but sometimes they can help in a close fight as I think they require the least pixels away from the enemy to use them.

I guess there is also the method of blocking every move by holding fire and pulling right, and countering it with a low chest punch or chest kick. This is the defensive game and doesn't always work if you wait to be attacked, because the enemies are usually busy scoring points off each other, and if you arn't careful, one will win and the other will come second, leaving you in last.
