Thanks for all the votes. The next few votes should be interesting ones so look out for them.

This was a real close one. Parasol Stars led most of the time until Sensi Soccer basically won on a last minute penalty shoot out with more 1st place votes. In fact all 1st place votes.

We have a good scoring system for this. Playing an 8 team custom league. In the past we have played against clubs and national teams. My knowledge of football is limited so if anyone wants to throw out an idea for which teams we use, go ahead. Otherwise I'll make a random choice myself in the next few days and post it here.

We play sensible soccer a fair amount, I think it’s important to offer some amount of tweaking to refresh the format but also progress it as a tournament offering.

I suggested in a previous year that we pick the last 8 (quarters) of any given years champions league (I’m happy to suggest a year with a good balance of teams if needed). We then allow the player complete freedom to pick any club team as their own. Simple league format with playing each team once.

I played around with the idea that if you pick an obviously poor club team there should be a handicap system that benefits you. For example if I pick my (beloved, beat Burton Albion 4-1 yesterday, looking good for playoffs) Oxford United, then I should get a multiplier for points that encourages that sort of challenge. Open to exploring how that might work, or happy to drop that bit of thought too complex!

I also love the idea of a tokenistic best goal competition during the round…

How about instead of Champion's League or the best national teams we choose well known, but mediocre/weak 1st league teams like Nottingham Forest, Girondins Bordeaux, SSC Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt this time?
