At the time this was unbelievably good. The graphics look really sharp to me, and music is superb. The split screen 2 player mode was something that much later overhead racers failed to implement e.g. Overdrive, Turbo Trax, Roadkill, to their significant detriment. Then there is the course design, with jumps over and tunnels under other parts of the track, and diagonal sections (i.e. Some turns which are less than 90 degrees) again something which those later games failed to include. I would say this is one of the best games on the Amiga.

Much worse than ATR or Skidmarks in all the aspects. Graphics is very average, even fps is bellow 10. Mega overrated game. But I haven't tried it in two players mode yet.. We'll see

This is indeed a very fine game which even today remains highly playable. While the graphics are at best just above average, the gameplay is excellent and remains so even after one has completed the three difficulties several times. The difficulty "hard" is indeed quite hard, which allows for many hours of challenging gameplay.
An interesting feature is that the armory-shop, which appears in-between the races, allows for speculation. You simply buy certain weapons when the price is low, refrain from using them and sell them again after the next race if the price is sufficiently high. This can potentially make your driver unashamedly wealthy which in turn allows for an excessive amount of weapons in the last races. I wonder if this was intentionally planned as a part of the game.
I have only come across one annoying mistake: If you buy three motors your car will not be able to make more than a few jumps in a row. (You will be jumping too long and your car will blow up). This is a problem in the hard races, which features several levels with three or more jumps in a row, and it thus makes the hard level even harder.
Overall an excellent game.

Masterpiece.

I wonder if Harrison Ford got any royalty from this?
Anyway, really nice car-game, as always from Magnetic Fields.

Even greater overhead racing game!

I'm happy because a lot of people like the music of this game like me...
all time favorite music!!!

Once you get over the fiddly controls it is wonderfully rewarding. I would say that it remained the best top-down racing game on any platform until Grand Theft Auto in 1997, but perhaps nostalgia is overwhelming me.

Lots of fun, one of the best top down racers released for the amiga.. If it run at 50fps like ATR it would have been perfect

Woah, i remember playing this for the first time and i was addicted. After Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge this was my favourite driving game alongside Crazy cars 3. Magnetic fields were just superb and if i ever had a chance to meet Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris i would buy them many drinks to say thankyou. 1 player was top class, 2 player was just a riot!!! Amiga rulez!!!

Almost perfect, gremlin hit strong when releasing this one, still one of the best of the style, perfect animation, good graphics and huge sound! More, the weapons choice was coooooooooool!

Better than SC1 in many ways - graphics, audio, 2 player mode and the CRAZY cut-screens such as a driving test, a reporter, an activist - which added a real element of fun (and luck). The car actually reminds me of a real car - is it an Alfa? Frustrating to get stuck but addictive.

Great game!
And I still love the theme music!

Great multiplayer action - in fact probably the game I played most with my school mates. Nothing like a well placed mine in a underpass to blow them up!

I don't know how many hours we spent with this game. And how many joysticks we broke down... One of my all time favorite in multiplayer.
we often played with the cheats to gain access to all weapons. Then the slaughterhouse begun ;-)

Another excellent racer from Magnetic Fields, I prefered this one over the first. Probably because of the 2 player mode and you got the soundeffects during the race. The menu, the track descriptions and soundeffects look like a lot those of Lotus 1. So that game is basically Lotus 1 with overhead view and weapons (and different tracks). Recommended if you like racers!

Part from the 2-player mode I don't really see the great up-grade here. If Super Cars 1 had a 2-player function, this game would've been rendered unnecessary. It's still a damn great game though, and it's an unbeatable top-down racing game in 2-player!

Super Cars 1 was better.

The two player version of this game with a 24 pack of lager is still an excellent night in. Many a time on the M1 have I wished for a Super Missile.

One of my old favourites, a great game. One interesting thing is that one of the basslines (appears at around 50 seconds for the first time) in the intro music by Ian Howe seems to be pretty much identical to one of the basslines in Sisters of Mercy track Body Electric.

One of my favourites - still play to this day. A female cousin of ours had the hex over myself and my brothers when it came to playing 2 player. Oh the indignity of it in 1991!
brilliant gameplay, tidy graphics, good music and f/x. Always worth coming back to.

Very cool, but somehow I liked the first part better. I miss the music in the game. Of course the in-game graphics were better, but you always race with the same car. The music rules, especially the menu music. Great game!

This got better, nice features like getting nicked by local cop shop and the shop was updated with add-ons. Cool game Gremlin

This hasn't aged well. The graphics and sound are very good but the races themselves feel very average and the controls seem unresponsive. The whole missiles/mines thing comes across as little more than silly these days, too.

Super Cars I was quite better than Super Cars II. All went worse in Super Cars II, it had 2 player mode but too many missiles spoils the racing action in this game. The new music begins good but latter gets quite grey and we lost the in game music. They added smother scroll but cars seems to be less solid, like floating. The graphics area is bigger and graphs are enhanced even more, u get a cool detail of car front and back when u are on the ramps but also a totally unrealist side view if you get the ramp turned on... Tsch Tsch...
Anyway the game is great, its real fail is not being as good than his first part.

Looks a bit boring first, but after you try those interesting levels and use those weapons, you will see that this is perhaps the most addictive overhead racing. Communication screens are fun.

Added multi-player but lost some of the charm of the original.
And still had a squiffy difficulty curve.

I personally preferred the first one, but this was great too.

A masterpiece (like its predecessor)! Although I liked the graphics of SC1 a bit more, this is still high-level-fun-to-play!!! Again: great soundtrack, great tracks (with jumps in(to) mid-air!!!), great shop and funny dialogues (!). One of my 2-player-game-favorites!

There seems to be thousands of 'Super Sprint' clones on the Amiga - But if you wnat the best, it's likely to be Super Cars II. The Graphics are very clear, gameplay is very addictive and there is so much content to this game. One of the best Amiga games I have played.

Great game. Soundtracks are absolutely great. Great graphics. One of the first racers I got and still one of the best. Nice 2 player mode. Great playability. Lots of levels and between the levels the police and your financial friends... Tuning up your car or blow up your enemies with missiles. 3 difficulties for even more fun. This really is one of the best multiplayer racing games and got the most levels on just 2 floppies!!
Great game!!

Doesn't look and sound (or play) as nice as its predecessor, but a split screen mode is always a 10 x addition to the fun factor. Add SC II to Shaun Southern's long list of racing game accomplishments.

One of the first gamers I had for the amiga... Endless duels against my brother

This game, I played much! This was the number one time spending activity for a long while back in the nineties, with my friends. In single player it was okay, but the power of this game is multiplayer! So addictive! Very nice graphics, VERY good soundtrack, and tons of playability. Although I did find some things a little annoying, like getting stuck behind curbs or fences when you steer one millisecond to late, but that is also one of the skills you had to master. A very good game and a classic!

Rotfl!!! The missiles... The guy at the police station... His stupid questions!!!! I really, really can't stop laughing when i think of identikit of the seller from the prequel in the police station... I used to play it with a friend, one of the best 2 player game for amiga ever!!!

Excellent game. I like the over-head view, fits the game very well. The two-player option is great.

Like its predecessor, a classic.

Promising intro and start to this game, but the fact remains its over-head racing, can't compare to other racers released at this time like Lotus Espirt Challenge, also 2 player racing fun.

A two-player classic. Not nearly as fun playing in one-player mode.
