tertronostalgic2021-07-02 Yep definitely one of the top 20 games ever for the Amiga. There were a few flaws however that need to be pointed out, the main one being the occasional slowdown on the standard Amiga when the screen got busy.
But it was not a crippling flaw.
Another one was an illogical design issue whereby you could research, develop and use certain pieces of equipment long before you had to find and retrieve them on later missions, which didn't make sense. This spoiled the game logic somewhat.
Navigating inside buildings and using the cars was sometimes tricky as well. Oh and someone here pointed out, what was the use of the access cards and time bombs? Very little from what I could tell.
But anyway despite these issues I give it a solid 9/10 View all comments (248)

Weasel Fierce2019-01-08 (8/10) Outstanding game that is hard to place. Tactics? Strategy? Action? It has a little bit of each area.
The dark, unflinching cyberpunk/anti-capitalist atmosphere is thick and very well executed. The game never even questions the civilians you mow down, and it didn't make you do it either. That was up to you.
Human life is obsolete. Move along citizen.
The game is let down a little by having bigger ideas than it can execute. Equipment like access cards and time bombs are intriguing but never really useful, movement indoors is a pain and vehicles are seriously frustrating.
But an ambitious game that tried to be something that had never been seen before and one that few people forget playing.
The Amiga version is oddly yellow, compared to the PC version but it's perfectly playable. An expanded system does help. A straight 500 gets a bit pokey running this. View all comments (8)
gaff2017-09-03 (9/10) Less difficult but more tactical alternative to CF. Action part is similar, but a bit more confusing time to time (you can't see in the buildings neither behind the walls and it's very fast sometimes), strategic part is extra.
It's great game until about its half, but after that, all the equipment is developed & bought. Moreover, it's possible to win most the battles with one agent equipped by minigun or flame thrower.

andy23592017-03-22 (9/10) One of the best games produced on any platform ever, looks great plays great sounds great and has great playability. Has a really good control system and really well implemented learning curve - the difficulty progression is exceptionally well designed with nice simple missions to get you going culminating in the Atlantic Accelerator which is gaming evil incarnate (never managed this without a full four cyborg squad!) and gives huge satisfaction when finished. Also great that we got the American Revolt expansion which I never finished as it has some truly difficult missions. The end game difficulty is why i knocked a point off because (for me anyway) needing at least 4 cyborgs means if have been careless beforehand you have replay missions to try and capture enemy cyborgs which is highly annoying but otherwise a well deserved 9 out of 10. fingerbib20002006-08-11 (10/10) What a game! A fantastic UI and how much fun was it when you got super legs and arms for your guys..MINIGUN!!! Moving inside buildings was a nightmare alright but this was was the first game where I felt the city was truly 'alive'. The fantastic bladerunner world with all those neon signs was so cool. As for the atlantic accelerator..as far as I remember you just arm one guy with a sniper and the others with miniguns and run to the corner of one of the walkways....the enemy can only come at you one at a time and then your sniper picks em off before they get in range... Biscuit2006-06-21 (10/10) The Amiga version is far better than any other. A game that must be completed. It's one of the most absorbing world domination games ever, and pretty big too. The sheer amount of violence you commit in the name of 'the company' never gets boring. The research and character upgrade elements round off an already perfect action game. I'm currently trying to complete it again. View all comments (31)
ToiletSupreme2005-11-27 This game has yet to be bettered. I liked 'sabotaging' crowds of people by planting explosives around massive groups of them. Pure chaos when I detonated them, loads of bodies everywhere and people stumbling around on fire, being mowed down by my miniguns.
Atlantic Accelerator was easy once you'd done it once. All you had to do was take your time, coax the enemies out one by one. View all comments (24)
Wolverine2005-06-23 More fun than the supposedly better looking PC version (which my friend had and it sounded awful) and far more stylish than the seriously crap and tacky looking console conversions. I loved that small citizens and their small habits like dancing in minigun rain, running at fire, flying with rockets... Groovy. I vote it THE BEST GAME EVER.

Two days ago I finished the Atlantic Accelerator. Could be 10, but why the hell there is no outro in this game. So many hours played and have got nothing for playing this. Only credits. But it's worthy to play and vote 9/10. I am trying to mobilize to American Revolt mission and after that play Syndicate Wars. But after some time.

This game was sooooo bad-ass when i first played it! The brutality of the shotgun impact on the bad guys was quite new back then... I loved it! Really cool game concept. Nice but sometimes rather slow-moving graphics (on a A500). Extremely addictive. Great game!

Great game, with alot of missions and guns and mods for your cyborgs.
The expansion disk American Revolt was harder for me (i was maybe 15) something i must try to play now.
I didnt like the part when you enter the buildings you couldnt see your cyborgs or anyone because of the roofs, but apart from that a great game no doubt.

Great hours spent playing it, and first cyborg game to not disappoint at all

One of the best games made on any platform. I still play this game. Minigun, rocketlauncher and flamethrower are my favorites!

Timeless classic!

Wow, now this is a classic! I must have spent weeks if not months playing this game when I was at secondary school in the mid 90's! The amount of homework I didn't do because I was glued to this, upgrading my 'agents'!

Aaaaah, yes, Syndicate was great. How sweet it was to get the cash flowing in and buy some new stuff for the minions, so they would kick even more
Too bad I only played the OCS version, I'd have enjoyed it better with smoother graphics, those ones were a bit poor on the colour side.
Still, great game

Totally awesome game. So memorable. 10/10

What a game!

This game oozes atmosphere. It's a must have. Although tricky in places, you will keep trying due to that fact that it's so damn playable. Play it, love it. 9/10.

The Amiga version is far better than any other. A game that must be completed. It's one of the most absorbing world domination games ever, and pretty big too. The sheer amount of violence you commit in the name of 'the company' never gets boring. The research and character upgrade elements round off an already perfect action game. I'm currently trying to complete it again.

One of my all time favourites, Bullfrog are absolute genius (nice one peter!)

This game has yet to be bettered.

Many places to explore. Great rendering intro and cool sfx.

A visionary sci-fi-action-rpg-rts-game! But the PC version was better (graphics-wise).

Loved it.

More fun than the supposedly better looking PC version (which my friend had and it sounded awful) and far more stylish than the seriously crap and tacky looking console conversions. This game was pure class and had a real evil side to the gameplay at times where it was possible to do things like use the persuadatron on loads of civilians then run them over or something... Evil and fun.

Great concept, original interface, fantastic atmosphere. A bit too tough to be totally fun however.

Great fun!! And yes, i completed the game! You have to play this game some time to get into it. Otherwise you wont get much out of it but once you master all the things it's simply a brilliant game. Graphics is bit fast ported from pc version but the game itself is the same. Great, great, great fun!
p.s. If you thought that the original is hard then try out "american revolt" data disk...

I loved this game. I used to play it until the early hours in the morning.
I remember completing it one sticky summer night. I turned out the lights and had the windows open. There was a thunderstorm outside - it was fantastic.

I completed this game, it is not impossible. It was a great fun, except that stupid and annoying movement inside the buildings, when you can't see anything and anybody, only randomly move your mouse pointer and hope that you will find your enemy before he kills you. It was really disgusting, more then Grand Theft Auto 1., where was the similar problem.

Great and almost impossible. One of the funniest things you could do was to load up with flamethrowers, go into large crowd and then just spray away!! Ahhh those lovely screams of pain.

Amiga conversion of a classic PC title looks drab and depressing in comparison. Perhaps a bit fitting to the theme but I liked the Sega Megadrive conversion with its anime-ish graphics more. Maybe I didn't give the game a fair chance back then and disgarded it rather quickly. Should give it a new chance, me thinks. Anyone want to part with his/her original copy?

Brilliant game by Bullfrog. Awesome sci-fi cyberpunk atmosphere, and extremely intense gameplay. Construct, arm and control your team of Cyborgs through the futuristic cities, each with their own infrastructure, police force and transport system. The PC version has better graphics because of its 800x600 resolution mode. The intro is way cool.

I never completed it, but played for days and days. Well, it was impressive and ultra-violent, but some missions looked really too difficult to me. A friend of mine reached the atlantic Accelerator and finded it "impossible to complete". Dispite all of this, a great game, with the possibility to kill everyone around you!!

This is the highest pinnacle ever touched by, in random order, Peter Molyneux, isometric environments, violent games and strategy-based shooters. And with a list like this, I guess it would be kinda hard to doubt this gem's real value...

No game before or since has matched Syndicate's perfect 'shoot-em-up'/ 'Strategy' balance.

You know I'm not too sure how well this works as a game. I found struggling to figure out what I was supposed to be doing in some of the missions. On the other hand there can be little doubting the entertainment value of herding 100+ innocent bystanders into a corner and torching them with a flame thrower.

This game is in one word: "class". When I first played this I found it enormously original. The graphics are very good and the sound is likewise. It's not just a shooter, but there was a big strategy element to, keeping your team fit and strong and building new weapons while you went on the next daring mission. Three thumbs up!
Graphics: 9/10
Sound: 9/10
Playability: 8/10
Overall: 8/10

Tony.rc: yeah? Better graphics.. So what? As a true gamer I know that gameplay overshadows great graphics and sound in the first place.. Only great graphics doesn't make a great game..

Violence is fun! I used to kill as many people as possible during every mission. The game offers a fair challenge and looks very polished. Sound FX is great! It's a great game. And was one of the last games I bought for my Amiga. The game play becomes a bit repitive in the long run, though. But it really doesn't matter when you're inside the city limits kicking butt, killing innocent civilians. That flame thrower sure is cool.

Mo0lyneux at his best. Don't think anyone else ever made the 3/4 view so much fun.

I can't understand why you comment PC GAMES! This one is an Amiga version, so express yourself to an Amiga one! IMHO this game is good enough.

The PC versions of a lot of games had better GFX due to them having 256 cols!
Lets comment on the Amiga ver eh!
Super game btw

The first game I remember where you could kill innocent people just for fun.
The popularity of recent games such as GTA San Andreas can only confirm that this is a good thing
