Fall damage, overly sensitive collision detection (I barely touch the laser barriers with the tip of my gun and still die in an impressive explosion), the screen only scrolls when you're close to the edges, so you will walk into enemies and mines and if you first go down ladders then up again, it will not fully scroll up anymore. If you keep all that in mind and get used to it, the game might be enjoyable.

If only they hadn't added all those major annoyances like continuously respawning enemies and deadly falls from mid heights...

Nerve breaking gameplay and frustrating level design coupled with ever re-appearing enemies makes for a pretty bad action-exploration game. Nice intro screen though...

This game is a pure crap. How the heck anybody can say that this is an average game? And where's the hype about an amazing title tune? Avoid this game. Do not even try loading it. Complete waste of time.

First thing I noticed about this game was the amazing sound track on the title screen! Thought the gameplay would reflect this but sadly it didn't. It looked ok but it was just an average platformer.

Not too bad a game playable but frustrating at times.

I always wanted this but bought Obliterator and Barbarian first, loved each and didn't bother with this after playing a demo years later and feeling it was too old to mess with. I'll sure mess with it now! Looks like fun actually.

Certainly beats Shadow of the Beast on the gameplay field, inmho. Ball has a gritty atmosphere, a nice level design & color palette, plus innovative bonuses. Give it a chance
Controls are not as awkward as one might think, but the heavy suit protecting the soldier implies careful moves.
Still, Baal has a few problems :
- The monsters keep coming back if you leave the screen where you killed them
- Hitting another button to jump would have been better
- Its overall difficulty
- An automap would have been a HUGE plus
- The cheats are a pain to set up

I used to load this game up just so I could look at the intro screen and listen to the music. The game was pretty boring. But, the graphics were impressive.
I hated how you couldn't fall from a short distance and when you did, it took forever to hit the floor.
Could have been a great game but wasn't.

BAAL = Bland And Also Lackluster...

The game itself was quite boring and forgettable, but the title tune is one of my favourite pieces of Amiga music!

One of the first games I played on the Amiga. Great title tune!

I only remember one thing about this game. You couldn't type any four-letter words as your name in the high score entry. If you did, you get a response like "I don't like that kind of language" or somehing.

I remember very strange thing about this game: it hasn´t work on my OCS/ECS machines, but ran with no problems on my A1200. An AGA game from 80s????
