F10 to slow it down a bit?!?!?
I have so many Amiga games that I never had the manual for.
I didn't score this one yet because I need to replay and try the whole F10 thing.

Edit: much more controllable with the F10 slowdown. I would have scored it a 5/10 before, I give it a 7 now!.

I really want to love this game each time I launch it. In France, with Moktar as hero, it was a little bit easy to avoid it in 1992 as I hated Lagaf 'and his horrible song which was so successful. But Titus The Fox is so cute that it is more difficult not to love this game. But wonderful GFX, music and animation can't hide all the gameplay and design errors that ruin the game. Levels are sometimes frustrating labyrinths and by default the main character moves way too fast. And what is this idea to place him in front of the screen? We always have to progress step by step, what is just once again frustrating in a game in which scrolling is so fast.

To help, you can press F10, a standard feature that divide the speed by 2. It's a bit slow but if you swtich your Amiga to 60hz display, here you have a decent speed. It's sometimes very slow as you understand that Titus made the choice to display the game as fast as possible depending the number of sprites on screen, what's a little bit stupid. But the game is far more playable with this settings

A real mess, the game is beautiful but really frustrating on many points.

Somehow I missed it back in the days.

Having played it by emulation now I must say it is a really decent platformer you can have quite some fun with.

Never did get into this one. The Tearaway Thomas-level jitteriness and needlessly hard-to-kill enemies were irritating, and I found the brown-and-purple color scheme opressive and monotonous. The Puggsy-like emphasis on item usage worked decently, if not to the degree of refinement on display in that game, but the inability to reclaim thrown items hurts it, stacking the deck even more in favor of the enemies that populate it so thoroughly. (It's silly to defend that on the basis of being able to pick up the enemies themselves, as that procedure is insanely unforgiving and only works with a handful of enemies in the first place.)

A decent idea, combining Sonic the Hedgehog with elements of the then-yet-to-be-released Puggsy, but without the balance of the first or the polish of the second.

Fast, good-looking, playable, long, and f**kin' hard! Don't know why, but when I was a young boy, thinkin there's a little creepy atmosphere in this game. But still play, and love it!

Smooth is a concept cannot be aplied to Titus games. Its fast, yes, but moving so jerky its easy to do. Titus has good graficians who knew to draw and paint,.. But for game design they always sucked in every game they made with very few exceptions.

Fast and quite playable. That fox is pretty cute and too pacific, IMO!

Quite a difficult game (thank goodness for passwords!) with many huge levels to explore, and the levels do take a while to load when you first visit them. However, that said, this is one of my favourite games and it's pretty addictive.

One of the best features of this game is the wide range of objects you can pick up and use in a variety of ways. Some allow you to jump on them to reach high platforms, and all of them can be thrown at enemies to kill them. The springs are pretty useful, and I love the bouncy balls and magic carpets!

You can also pick up some of the enemies. It's so entertaining to see that cute little fox walk around carrying a big muscular thug in one hand.

The animation is a little jumpy (Titus's walk cycle has only 3 frames) but all in all the graphics are quite nice. There are some hilarious facial expressions from Titus when he gets hurt, and the enemies when Titus picks them up. The music is pretty good too.

The levels are all well-designed. My favourite has got to be level 11, which is a HUGE level including a magic carpet, Titus's fiancee in a cage (which you get to carry around) and a sumo-wrestler boss that you must face with a bouncy ball as your only weapon. But yes, many of the levels are great, making the game very replayable and enjoyable.

An OK platformer with crap loading times as far as I can remember. Nothing startling but a good little romp to amuse for a few hours.

I wasn't expecting too much from this when I played it, but I was plesantly surprised. Its slightly different to your usual platformers where you jump on their heads. In this game you have to throw objects at them. Not bad at all.

Enjoyable - bit self gratifying by Titus software, never liked the main character, but decent nonetheless

Steef-online, did you know that you can also pick up the enemies and throw them into other enemies? It brings the game another dimension and frankly saying it makes it a bit easier. Nevertheless the game is still quite difficult.

Titus the Fox is a platform-game which doesn't offer anything special. You are Titus, a fox with no capabilities at all, other then running rather fast. You can pick up some object which you can throw at some baddies trying to harm you. Graphically this game isn't bad at all and the music is nothing special. It's just that this game is so empty and simple. You run around trying to find the way to the end of the level, while jumping over baddies... And that's basically it. I lost interest in about 10 minutes... This game had much more potential!

Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 6/10
Playability: 5/10

Overall: 5/10
