One of the first great sports games on the Amiga.

I huge improvement from 4 & Inches. The game play could be more smooth without the graphic delays and score updates. Passing takes awhile to perfect. Playing with a two drive system is a must also. 8/10 Haywire

This was my first Cinemaware game... And I loved it!

As an Australian, I knew nothing of American Football but this game soon had me hooked. I used to stay up late on Tuesday nights just to watch Don Lane host the game of the week on the ABC.

I don't know what it was about this game (or any Cinemaware game for that matter!) but it was so addictive and it just had me coming back for more. It did become a little too easy (my best score was 181-0, go the shotgun!) but I still have found memories of this game.

A little of topic but one thing I could never understand... Why isn't there more lateral passing in American Football? Seriously, I think it would be worth while for American footballers to learn a bit of Rugby and see how effective the lateral pass could be!

Innovative TV presentation that made you feel like the world was watching you which made it more exciting than other football games out there. The throwing interface made gameplay a blast. Only fault is that there were a couple passing plays that would smoke the computer secondary every time and scoring could be ridiculously lopsided, but still an excellent football game.

I bought this game because I remember thinking at the time that it was the most incredible looking game I had ever seen.
I guess I must have overlooked the fact that I knew next to nothing about American football and didn't like what I knew.
Nevertheless,Few Amiga games could hold a torch in the visual dept and the presentation was second to none.
The best bit-the cinemaware loading screen that looked liek it was from a glitzy hollywood show.
class.
