Decent rendition on an arcade that is very reminiscent of Qix. I think the archaic predecessor is still more enjoyable but there is not much to complain about in Volfied except, peraphs, lack of continues (6/10).

Good Amiga remake of Qix. Rather difficult but enjoyable.

My main gripes with Volfied is are the large size and the fast movement of the enemy sprites. After level three, it gets frustratingly difficult to claim a substantial area of the playfield for your tiny spaceship. It is a bit of a shame since I really liked the gameplay of the original Qix.
The good news is that there is a public domain game with similar gameplay, simpler graphics, but better gameplay than Volfied for Amiga computers. You might want to check out Bally 3, developed by Oliver Wagner and released as early as 1989.

I love this game on C64 but on Amiga it robs my mind: Bad sounds and too hard to play, else in easy modus so it's a motivation killer. What a pity !

This is one of many Amiga games, that are just much too hard for me. Fortunately there are cheats, so this game isn't THAT frustrating. Still it can be fun at times.
edit: Ok I tried it again, and now I know what to do, or how to collect the power ups (the blocks) relatively safely. Now it isn't that frustrating anymore.
biggest problem still: that thing you control, is MUCH too slow compared to the quick enemies. You die too fast, and too often when you're not 100% careful. But the first 11 levels are really doable after some practice.

Very good arcade conversion and very good game on itself.

In comparison to the PC Engine port, the game is maybe a little easier. There are only 16 stages, not 60, and they appear to port the arcade levels and enemies fairly accurately, unlike the previously mentioned port. It also allows you to survive when an enemy touches your line, if you manage to conect it quick enough.
However, most of the latter levels just felt like humongous amounts of enemies keep following your every move, instead of following some sort of pattern, leaving you very little breathing space. On the other hand there aren't any enemies that show up when you take too long to go right at your safe zone and kill you, but your shield depletes pretty quickly, so it's not that much of a difference.
Overall, I think I may preffer the PC engine port. It may deviate from the arcade game quite a bit, but once you learn the necessary moves, it isn't anywhere near as frustrating as this.

Sweet memories... Played a lot this game, Volfied has great graphics, specially the enemies. Are imaginative and well drawn. That intriguing landscapes, and weird aliens, inspired me to play more and more, to see the next levels...and had me hooked for a long time

Very nice Qix style game!

Volfied isn't Tron, it's Qix! The power-ups work well, particularly the Time Stop. Graphics are very close to arcade perfect.
