As far as console style platformers go, Wonder Dog respects many conventions of the genre and does it quite well. Controls that stick to a single fire button and the choice about music and sound effects are still obnoxious, but the game plays fairly well (6/10).

A very average run-of-the-mill platformer. There is very little I can write about this game because it does the same old stuff that can be seen in literally hundreds of platformers than came before it.

Nice fast playable platformer - nothing original at all but still good and enjoyable especially with the passwords. Just the usual Core Design problem of having to choose between music OR sfx. If they're gonna do it like that then why not give the option of changing between them at any time during play rather that just at the start? - 7/10

First I thought 'Hey, nice graphics, very cool music, nice comic-style' "wonder dog" (with wings fixed on ears - funny !). But after a few minutes of playing my motivation decreased: Taxing gameplay, no extra sounds (only music), unfair scrolling and opponents. Sorry guys, there are better games written by "CORE DESIGN". Baaaah....

This was another port from a Sega console (this time the Sega/Mega CD) and, like Mega Turrican, it's actually better on the original platform even though it's still not very good.

I bought this as a joke for my sis since I'd been keeping my niece and nephew in Amiga games for several years. She gloated about it endlessly. Not sure if they liked the game...probably so. I played it myself and found it a lot of fun. Kind of like Son of Chuck Rock in visual style. The main character was kind of appealing. I'm not sure I'd say this was average...I'd go with above average.

Very good GFX and Design. Extraordinary controlls and good scrolling. I think this platformer is above average. 8 Points !!

A typical platformer from Core. Playable enough but very similar to other platformers.
