Nothing more than R-Type clone...good gameplay but if you have played RT for a lot of time you don't need this game!
Anyway, it deserves to be played at least once

Yes, too hard, definetely! Prefer to play trainer version before frustration will "kill you"...

Way too difficult! ... BUT ... The music and action is all top stuff... Only with trainer though. The title music is EPIC!

Simple shooter. It does not have anything that makes it unforgettable, but it's pretty nice and the tech is excellent. Vote 7/10.

Very good shooter. If you like X-Out you also will like Z-Out !

Well, Z-OUT isn´t really a successor to X-OUT. Its original name is Wargate made by Advantec and presented in german cult magazine ASM. Rainbow Arts made a deal - and there it was: Z-OUT.

Very classic in concept, technically flawless but lacking that little something to make it really unforgettable.

Difficulty gets absolutely insane after the fourth level and makes it almost impossible to complete without the cheat mode.

Good but not great though it ranked among the best when it was released.

Easily amongst the best shoot'em-ups on the Amiga. Plus it features music by Chris Hülsbeck.

Good shoot'em up game - not as good as X-Out. But it makes your joystick burn though !

Not a bad game, pretty good designs. The last boss is kind of ridiculous, because you sometimes have little to no room to change the position of the probe, because it bounces right back when you're too close to the edge of a screen.

Was this a follow up to X-Out? Probs, although I don't think it really stands as well as X-Out did. This had pretty poor playability and totally unforgiving baddies in later levels. Looked nice but very little else.

Great shoot-em-up... From the opening title with the cool music and scrolling text effects, to the hard as arcade quality game. The gfx may not be as pretty as a fe others, but they are colorful and varied with a good selection of effects through the different levels. Its super tough and i never got very far, but that never stopped me coming back! Quality

A veritable cornucopia of color! A starburst of psycho-delia! If your nuerons are in need of a little ex(Z)itement, this little stimulo-colo-burst H-shooter's for you!

Good technique, but this game is absurdly hard and predictable (a very close R-type clone rather than of X-Out) on enemies, sceneries, weapons etc. After one play or two, abandon it. Even better Menace!

Very tough game (untill you get used to it) and it may prove too much for most. A pity, because this is right up there with SWIV, R-type 2 and Apidya.

Erm... Well. X-Out had this atmospheric intro and great music, and at least the first level of X-Out was amazing. Z-Out was just - ordinary. No intro. The graphics were nice, and the music was nice, but the whole game looked kinda ... Uninspired.

Great shoot-em-up that owes a lot to R-Type but still manages to have it's own distinct 'feel'. Excellent title-screen music and somewhat 'inappropriate' fairytale-ish sound on completing a level were both memorable.

Sheesh! This one takes me back. Me and the bro spent A$80 (a lot of money back then!) to have it sent from the UK upon it's release. I still enjoy it way more than any other R-Type clone (bar X-Out). Love the minutely accurate (and very necessary) colision detection, creative graphics and matching music.

Nothing original here (another R-Type concept clone) but everything is smooth and heavily entertaining.
This is a semi-obscure shooter but deserves much more light nowadays due to its very high quality!
Music is one of the Chris Hulsbeck best piece too!

Due it's difficulty I was used to play it with trainer. But - strange thing - it was still entertaining. Maybe for its level and enemy variations. Soundtrack is amazing, especially title and the level 2 organ tune.
