"Jungle Strike" is not even close when compared with excellent "Desert Strike". Graphics are less appealing and they do not create that specific atmosphere that existed in the prequel. Even though there are three versions available (ECS, AGA and CD32) none of them is really showing the true potential of the system they are made for (In fact AGA version works on ECS chipset but requires 2 MB of Chip Ram). Sound and music are also weaker, less climatic and very repetitive and mundane. Overall, however weak above mentioned may sound, the game is not bad - it is quite good and entertaining but only if you look at it not as a sequel. "Jungle Strike" is a pure arcade game with smooth animation (much less jerky than in "Desert Strike" ) and almost not existing tactics element so much loved in the predecessor.

Entertaining game, but no where near as engaging as Desert Strike. Apart from the look and feel, perhaps the level design lacked a little.

Very good, but not as Desert Strike. The graphic is worst. I wonder, how they do that and why? Maybe it's sand looks better than jungle, but in Jungle Strike we also have desert mission. I really don't know why tis was happend. Probably the best OST i ever heard on Amiga, better than Lotus 3. Intro and menu music - wonderful. 8/10

Fun game to play for a while, not as challenging as the prequel and it lacks those great SFX and GFX from Desert Strike. This looks like a straight Sega Mega Drive port to me...

Let me just clear this AGA graphics stuff up. There are 3 versions of the game, an ECS version, AGA and CD32. The in-game graphics are identical on all versions. The intro sequence with the helicopter flying sideways over the jungle is AGA enhanced - it uses 4 bitplanes in dual playfield mode (16 colours - AGA only) vs 3 bitplanes (8 colours) for the ECS version. The background also has a graduated copperlist unlike the ECS version. The Jungle Strike writing is also better in AGA.

So there are a few differences - but I agree that it would have been nice to have the in game graphics with another bitplane or so giving more colours. However the game plays bloody well, and is more stable than the original Desert Strike.

Absolutely cack conversion of Megadrive original. Which itself wasn't up to much after great Desert Strike. This is one of the worst Amiga games for sure.

Compared to the SEGA version the Amiga version looks like one zillion percent crap and like Carpow said..."You call this AGA graphics?!?
Remember playing this on my cousin's SEGA and was very impressed by the game and almost dreamed about it (lol) so It was one of the first games I bought for my A1200 and I was almost depressed after playing it the first time.

What a huge disapointment after great, great Desert Strike... You call this to AGA graphics?!? HAH! You can run this on OCS/ECS machines with more chip ram! Hahaha...
