On first glance, the pacing and sound of the music seemed a bit tame. But when you pair the music score with the graphics and gameplay in 'Tin Toy', it fit fine. Gameplay controls were fair, not overly difficult--I'd guess more hardcore gamers would find this one too easy.

Going back to the graphics, this is what I enjoyed and admired the most--parallex backgrounds of pastel shades against darker foregrounds. Any flaws are easily overlooked when compared to the overall quality of the rest of this game.

I only played a demoversion back then but it was really well put together and featured really good graphics! I should give the fullversion finally a try.

I played this one recently on "winuae" and I thought it had its moments considering its a 1996 effort. The graphics are nice though and this adds a lot to the overall picture of the game.

This game featured contour maps/slopes that for the life of me I just couldn't work out back in 1991/92 when coding DoodleBug heh (you can tell by the fact that I had to give up with it in DoodleBug by the 'steps' put back in on the slopes in the level one tile graphics etc.) And there you have it - not to mention it took me and a friend a while to work out how the shat in crikey to do the 5th bitplane parallax in DoodleBug (like Robocod had) heh Tin Toy was a bit of a samey platformer, but hey it did look pretty good and sold quite well on the then almost dead Amiga in 1996... So you have to give me some credit for supporting a machine many big boy publishers had long given up on!.
