Why this game is so ugly? Just two names : U.S.Gold and Tiertex! Quality insurance? No matter! Play testing? Too expensive! And stop comparisons to Rick Dangerous. Rick Dangerous is designed to be difficult but it is a wonderful "die & retry" game while this one is only difficult because of a bad playability. It's a shame as the Megadrive version is really nice and should easily been converted to AMIGA. But it is U.S.Gold, one of these publishers that considered that a famous licence and nice looking graphics on the back of a packaging was is for good selling. And to be honest, they were right as their disastrous CAPCOM conversions and movie adaptations were generally best sellers.
You can give a try to Dr Jones in this game, especially using NTSC screenmode that will give you smoother and faster scrolling and moves, but it will not be enough to save this poor game from shipwreck.

Same level design as the Master System and the C64 versions (Completely different on the Mega Drive). Best play those instead.
Very jerky and slow movement. The screen movement doesn't keep up with the action, so you can't see what's going on until it's too late. Almost everything kills you instantly and the collision detection is bloody awful. The restart points are in particularly stupid places also.
The positives are the fact Indy actually is Young Indy in the right places and the enemies suit in similar way. Ropes are easier to grab onto compared to the C64 version. Only worth playing if you enjoy all things Indy related for some bizarre reason.

Difficulty is similar to Rick Dangerous. You need to learn the levels by heart, which makes this game annoying.

Played it for the very first time 20 years ago (wow, time sure goes fast) and didn't make it far.
Played it 5 minutes ago...and still no progress at all. This game is bad; you lose your health way to fast, you can't even touch the ceiling! Every time I'm trying to climb on those ropes I get hit and I'm falling down, which drains my health almost immediately. What a relentless game!

I was a fan of the Indiana Jones movies, but this game wasn't that good. Kinda slow and frustrating sometimes...but I kept playing it, because hey; it's Indy!

I remember giving this quite a bit of time due to liking the movies and the adventure games. It wasn't great but somehow quite enjoyable until the rather stinky end appeared.

One of the first if not the FIRST game I ever played.
I recall it being hard and giving-up pretty quickly.
In 20 years, I have more patience for hardness now.
Average game.

Pretty OK game, considering how hard it is to make a platformer game out of an Indiana Jones movie. I have even completed this one, the last stage is very tough! The ending sucks, just a little congratulations screen IIRC!
Luckily we have the Lucasarts adventure game!

Fun yet basic platformer. I prefer the point-and-click Last Crusade game, but I got into this one a lot quicker than the platform Fate of Atlantis game. The graphics are quite nice for their time and the controls are simple and user-friendly.

Included to my first A500. I was kinda disappointed.

I`ve always been a fan of Indiana (watched Last Crusade so many times that I knew dialogues by heart!!) and so I`ve come across this game. My initial opinion was positive but after some time spent playing this I`ve come to a conclusion that this is no more than an average game. It is a bit underestimated IMO and due to it`s atmosphere and some action from the movie this game will always be positive in my eyes.

It's slow and sluggish, but still I could play it for a while. There's much worse around, but of course, much much better.

I often heard of a 'great game' called Indiana Jones... So I played this one. I really tried to understand why some mates of mine were so excited about this ugly collision-error called "game". 2 full years later I saw the game they were talking about and planet earth was okay again. (excuse my bad english)

I consider myself a great fan of Indiana Jones. Words aside, the adventure game is far better. Yet I found this version charming, jut like the C64 one. There's something about it that I like, it recalls me Journey to the center of the Earth. Not very difficult to finish, average graphics, and maybe, the idea of the movie in my mind. But the gameplay sucks. You might like it if you have respect for the movie.

I would agree with the other comments. Some nice touches but a bit dull and lifeless otherwise. 4/10 and not much to keep you coming back.

Finished it a couple times when on the miggy but when I look it know I really don't know what motivated me. Ah yes Indiana
Well it's not the worst game, it's juste nothing special. Btw first level maybe is hard but the game is pretty easy and short. 5/10 for me.

Not that bad actually. Just mediocre and too hard to motivate you long enough to finish more than the first level.

Boring gameplay, lazy controls and sad graphics made this one of the worst Indy-based games ever, if not the absolute worst. Way to go, Tiertex...
