A lot of new ideas, new approaches to stereotypical things but unfortunately the way the whole thing has been done is really irritating. There are too many arcade sequences that in fact get you stuck. I think that this is the first time I got stuck in an adventure game not because I had no clue how to progress, but because of having difficulties how to get into somewhere which was visible on the screen but still out of reach. At first glance, I liked this installment but the further I were, the more I disliked it.

The only Kings Quest game I ever bought, or indeed ever played. It had a good story, and it was nice to see a game with a female main character.

Of course, it wasn't without flaws, and I remember being so pissed off by the fact that a 2 dm drop would kill you! Typical Sierra random-death.

One of the first adventures with a female lead! And a great game too. Even though graphics aren't of Amiga standards but an EGA port, they are atmospheric enough to convey the feeling of epic and challenging fairy tale. Go Rosella go!

The apex of EGA graphics. Great detail, nice story, and the day and night versions of the enviornments did add a very nice touch to the game. Still, an Amiga version of a game should look so much better.

No doubt, a lot of work when into this, great atmosphere, graphics, realistic sound, my favourite Kings Quest version to date.
