Strider 2 is an abomination. It looks and plays like a bad ST game. Visuals are poor and lack colours, the scrolling is a jerky mess, the appalling level design is an insult to the first episode, the soundtrack is the same used for Strider 1, the robot feature is badly implemented, sometimes buggy and pretty much useless, so is your firegun. All in all a proper failure on par with most of the US Gold catalogue when it comes to action games.

Faster than the original which was a definite plus, but scrolling still juddery, not too bad though if a bit too tough -
Just a bit pathetic though the way they used the same music from the original game throughout...5/10

Apparently Tiertex fancied themselves to be of Capcom quality as they cooked up the sequel to the arcade hit. The game has lost all the charm the original had. Even the Amiga conversion of the first game had some, albeit small, charm left but this is just pointless.

Why, oh why did Tiertex have to insist on Strider, when the first time 'round it went so horribly wrong? Really, this was pure cruelty on that poor hero...

I remember really hoping that Stride 2 would rock. Then I heard you transformed into a robot. After about 10 minutes of play I gave up and moved to something a bit less of an offense to my intelligence.
