There was no reason for this to be as bad as it is. The controls are bad, the gameplay is dull. It looks OK graphically, but that's about the most I can say for it. It's functional I guess?

Could have been great if they put more time and effort into it. Unfortunately, it's a below-average game with good graphics but very limited gameplay. Gets boring very quickly.

Wonder why they didn't go for a proper port of WWF Superstars - with all the playable wrestlers, tag team etc. - instead of opting for this half-assed hybrid. There are traces of what could have been the missing wrestling game on the Amiga, but the whole thing just feels dull: in fact, the main tournament feels like it's taking place in a mostly empty school gym. Then there is more insane joystick-waggling than in WWFSS, to the point that I dropped it altogether and just went for punching or running attacks. Even the pre-match taunting seems pointless not only in its principle, but also in the way it's implemented: you always get the same reply back and the whole exchange doesn't seem to affect the wrestlers in any noticeable way.
Also, it might be my bias against the platform game trend of the time, but perhaps there wasn't much more to be expected from developers whose highlights are Mega Twins and Alfred Chicken...

Such a wasted opportunity. Game ran fast, looked great, almost as good as the arcade, Nice music and FX. Unfortunately they forgot one thing. Gameplay. If someone had just played the arcade they could have seen what made it so good. There's no reason why it couldn't have been more or less ported in its entirety. Maybe another cut down version because fo time restrains. Depressing really. 4/10

I hated wrestling so hated this. Dull combat and average gfx.

I hope to find something like the arcade original version but of course, this wasn´t a conversion in itself. A videogame licensed by the top american wrestling league sounded great for me too but..........this is a "smashing buttons" one in which there is a simple and ridiculous part of strategy to get a victory but overall, smash, smash and smash buttons faster than lighting.
Anyway graphs are pretty and the sound is not as bad. One of my favourites on Amiga becasue the WWF ruled tv in my country (Spain) in the first half of the 90´s and we demanded a wrestling licensed game. This one was enough

Wasn't THAT bad, but the arcade was on another world.

Why there is not even one good wrestling game in Amiga , this is a rubbish game , every wrestler has only one move aside from standard punch&kick.

SNES version is much better

Ahh this game was a good laugh...sure maybe not for 25 quid, but to play at a mates house. "you have a face only as mother could love!" and so forth. Unplayable rubbish in all its joystick-waggling glory.

I waited a long time for a good wrestling game on the Amiga. Never did get one. This particular effort was very limiting. A limited selection of playable characters. Each of which had a very limited move set. Bouts degenerated into kick punch competitions anyway so you only needed the two moves. Think the game will be more fun in two player mode? Well possibly but one of you has to play as "Mr Perfect"! The only good thing about this game is a bug. There is a chair on the outside of the ring you can use to clobber your opponent. This is fun, but you are only allowed to stay outside the ring for a few seconds. Fortunately, due to sloppy programming, you can get the chair over the ropes and into the ring. There you can use it as much as you like.
