Excellent conversion and indelible sign that FACTOR 5 were AMIGA genes! Everything works as it should and there is nothing negative to score, maybe just the final Boss a little too tough compared to the rest of the game. Going left and right hitting everything with the head in a fantasy / prehistoric environment is priceless, mythical!

It's still after many years one of my favourite Amiga 500 games. Yesterday I played it again. I love it when the 4 bosses blink in many colours when I beat them.
And at the end I'm glad the moon princess is on the good side again but she looked interesting when she is evil in yellow hair, glasses and blue dress and eggshell on her head.
I love the atmosphere when I fly to the moon for the last boss. Great imaginative game on the same high level as James Pond 2 for example.

Excellent platform game, perhaps the best version of PC/BC Kid 1. The power of Amiga 500 is perfectly used as always with Factor 5 : beautiful gfx, smooth scrolling, big screen, nice musics, very playable with a good balance of difficulty along the game. Everything on a single disk if i have good memories and with fast loading. One of the best classic platform game on A500.
9/10 for me

A very good conversion of a PC Engine classic.

The PC Genjin series is one of the best ever in the platformers arena but everyone knows that when Japanese wonders are ported to the Commodore machines something, if not everything, is lost in translation. Not this time. Not when Factor 5 is involved. BC Kid succeeds in the difficult task of looking and feeling 100% Japanese and 100% amigan at the same time. The flawless playability of the original is completely retained while the technical department is boosted by the superior capabilities of the Amiga. Merit mention for continues and the 2-button joysticks native controls. BC Kid is a top-class platformer (9/10).

When a game features music and sound effects simultaneously on the Amiga, it makes you feel like the N64 kid, punching the air like Michael Bolton hitting a key note at the sight of his brand new N64 games console. I actually played this game initially on a PC engine, and later on the Amiga. Factor 5 have done an excellent job. They must have loved this game, because it's a very faithful port with enhancements, a wonderful control system and bags of playability that has kept me entertained for the last, oh I dunno, is it twenty years or more? A true Amiga gem, and the only shame is that the Amiga never received ports of the sequels. There was an epic SNES version too, so be sure to check that one out as well.

Make no mistake this is one of the three best platformers on the Amiga. It plays like a dream, don't fool yourself by the low rating of this. Don't miss it.

I know the original didn't have it but I think the Amiga version should have added parallaz since it has a very basic look about it. Will play now as I didn't back in the day. Looks interesting and there's not enough decent console platformers on the Amiga.

Absolutely great game. Read my review to find out more about what I think of it.

Finally got around to playing this one long enough to get out of level 1 pretty easy. Simple colors, appropriate-sounding music and fxs. The controls are right on it--I was complaing about the 'over-jumping' on just a touch of stick--but really, it's exactly how much stick you put into it--the controls in this game are simple and match the rest of the game.
At least this one's not frustratingly/impossibly difficult.

BC Kid is awesome; one of the few platformers on the Amiga that I really liked and played for longer than one or two hours. The game design is very polished. The difficulty develops gradually over the course of the levels, so you feel compelled to try and complete all of them.

I remember playing this one late on Crimbo eve with my bro so nice memories for me! A great little game that ticked all the right boxes, fun, cute, playable, addictive! However a strange game for Factor 5... Still great tho.

Factor 5 dudes have always been heavily inspired by Japanese games (maybe that's why their games were usually better & more polished), that one is a faithful conversion of PC Engine's PC Kid (Pithecanthropus Computerurus) which makes it easily one of the best platform games on Amiga 500 (maybe the best one or at least the most refreshing).
Also it was the first platformer using a prehistoric set which later spawned a few ripoff like prehistorik or the Chuck Rock series.

Very amusing cartoon graphics make this game a lot of fun! Nice sound effects too.
The controls are simple to understand (though have quite a bit involved and take much longer to master!) and the gameplay is pretty straightforward, although I always found this very difficult to control for unknown reasons. It really is good fun though.

Haha, today is the first time I played this on my amiga and I gotta say it's damn fun. Only heard of this game recently on screwattack! For some console and what do u know, it was sitting on my miggy harddrive all along. A really fine game this is and some truely wacky idea's haha.
Even though it's not as good as superfrog and giana sisters, this is a damn fine platformer with with truely whacky graphics and some nice sound to back it up. I like it

Still my favorite platformer to this day. I own all the Turbo Grafx ones.
solid stuff

A 1:1 conversion of the PC Engine game 'Bonk'. Not a classic by any standard, but a rare console quality platformer on the Amiga - and a nice two fingers up to all those people who insisted it wasn't possible. 7/10.

I did not buy this just because review said that it is very easy. I have played this only with PC Engine emulator. Of course, it is a very good platformer.

This was another of my favourite platform type games which had nice colourful GFX and decent sound. Factor 5 did a good job on this as they did with the Turrican series

I've always liked this game since I played it on the PC Engine (where its known as 'Bonk'). Theres a simple idea behind the gameplay but its fun and extremely playable. The way the kids head grows is so funny too!
Definetly one for the platform fans who expect arcade quality Grpahics and Gameplay.

Cute game. I enjoy playing this game on my A1200. The graphics look too 8-bit. TURBOGRA X version is much better. But its fun its still fun to play it on an AMIGA.

Very fun game. BC Kid comes from the "PC Engine" machine and this creature was big in Japan by kids...
The game is cute, has nice graphics and is good

I was amazed when they ported the turboGrafix one killer ap to, of all things, the Amiga. A perfect port of a fun game. Not Mario, but a great alternative.

The graphics are cute, the humour is cool and the biting of the walls to climb them was just awesome and funny
