Cybernoid II is quantum leap from the original Cybernoid. The graphics are much better, more colorful and in higher resolution. You are not stuck with only sound effects, but can listen to a very good in-game tune instead. Selectable weapons. This game is very hard, with traces of danmaku (bullet storm). By hard I mean it's even harder than Contra Hard Corps on the PS2. This game is simply hell but in a good way. Raffaele Cecco has designed several very good games, this is one of his very best. This style of puzzle / shoot'em up is simply not done anymore, the gameplay is superb. If you like *hard* games, shoot'em ups and danmaku kei, you just have to check it out! I wish there were more games like Cybernoid II.

What on Earth went wrong here? The original was a hard-but-fair experience, but this one is brutally unforgiving. A real step backwards after the first game. A great shame.

Din't know what's wrong the cybernoid saga on 16 bits! The 8-bits versions are great (specially on CPC612 and the amiga versions are boring and impossible.
I remember being so surprised at the time each time i rediscovered a game i had loved on CPC on my amiga: how could they fail !? There are so many examples of failed conversions...
Anyway, no need to waste your time on this one

I loved C64 version of Cybernoid 2. The Amiga one is very similar, has beautiful graphics and some improvements, like teleports. The music remained the same. But the difficulty level is set to impossible and is annoying to play it even with the unlimited lives. And there must be a mistake in the cheat description here: while the "necronomicon" cheat works, the keys - cheat is unable to set, because Cybernoid 2 is controlled by joystick only and so there is not redefine keys option.

Cybernoid has beautiful graphics for a shooter and a compact playfield. The playability however is close to impossible. Too bad.
