Not enough effort was put into making this game as it was shockingly short and easy to complete, as well as all the levels looking so similar. Definitely not worth full price back then.

Honestly, I don't understand the hate. I actually like this game. It is fluid and reasonably fast, has acceptable graphics and the music/sfx are good. Playability, which is what a game comes down to is sort of OK (not great but far from the worse thing ever). Sure, it pales compared to the arcade, but the Arcade had 3 68000 processors running at 10MHz (the Amiga had one running at 7 Mhz) so we could NOT expect the Amiga to reproduce the arcade game. Given what the Amiga can give and considering the game itself, I actually think that Storm did a fine job. This sort of approach (dumb down the graphics to increase speed and, thus, playability) worked wonders on the 8bit computers and - maybe because of the Amiga graphic capabilities - was much less seen on the Amiga. This is why games like Power Drift were much more playable on the C64 and even the Spectrum than on the Amiga, despite the latter looking much better. At least Big Run is not guilty of that crime. As far as I'm concerned: kudos Storm!

An average "racing game". All stages look rather dull and the game quickly becomes monotonous.

Technically above average but quite unplayable, at last for me

Awesome title music! Gotta save to favourites. Other than that, pretty shite. For instance there is no way knowing what you gonna hit when there's so little time to see what's coming your way (obstacles)

Nice intro music... The game is average at best.

A very poor racing game. The bouncing car added nothing to the gameplay. 3/10

Not much variation - all the levels seem to look the same in this one.

No big complaints from this non-racing expert. What's the word for this one--simple? Well, it's not got much going for it in the depth department, but it's fun for a while to get up speed and dodge the obstacles. This may have been a game that was rushed to market to make a quick buck--but still ok in it's own way. Decent animation, sparse graphics, ok sound.

I had this game - and I liked it. It's nowhere near as good as the arcade version - this is because all the sprites and extra background images have just gone and all the opponent cars are identical. This made the game less interesting and worse than it should've been - If I remember correctly, it was squeezed onto one floppy - it would've been acceptable for two floppies and keep the extra graphics. Only one comment .... Missed opportunity !!!

Imagine being told that your pet had died, you had a serious sexually transmitted infection and you were being sent to prison for a crime you didn't commit all at the same time. Remarkably this game is worse than that. It made Chase HQ look good.

Got a bit disapointed with this..
Never bought it though

I really liked this, on a arcade style... Racing game level, wasn't maybe the most inspiring game ever...but there are so many racing games a whole lot worse than this...kinda repeditive probally, likely to lack long term interest to most... But certainly fun and playable... 73/100 For Mine.

Noway near the original arcade game. On the Amiga all the beatiful graphics and highly detailed backgrounds and cars are lost. Without this the game is a very simple and basic racer with a good feeling of speed and smooth handling too but all the stages look the same (not to mention the opponent cars that ARE exactly the same throughout the game!) so the experience became dull and boring after few minutes.
So Big Run is just another dull and unispiring arcade conversion, but surprisingly still playable even if not for long time in any case...

Yeah I had this and it wasn't the best racing game, yet not the worst either, it was OK with standard GFX and sound

Pretty good racing car game, nice graphics and sounds too.

A strangely cute conversion of a nice coin-op, with all of those weird 'round and funny' cars... But cuteness was nowhere to be seen in the graphics-heavy original, so it's kinda safe to say the Amiga version completely failed as a conversion. It wasn't very playable too, after all...
