Sakf5042020-05-03 (8/10) This is surprisingly a pretty good port of a excellent Mega Drive game. It has its flaws of course, like the long loading times and the awful in-game music, but it plays just as good as the Mega Drive original, and is also just as fun. (8/10) View all comments (12)
xubidoo2019-04-04 (4/10) Poor conversion of what was nothing special on the Megadrive.
Terrible framerate, no engine sounds??? What, its a Motorbike game, i wouldve thought the fact your racing along on a big powerful Bike, and u dont hear a thing..
The whole point of any racer is to feel speed and feel the power in your vehicle of choice, might as well be chugging along on a Honda 90.
Its ok for a quick blast if you like Motorbike games, when you get bored of this , go play No Second Prize or even Super Hang on. View all comments (13)
Dottor_Psycho2017-02-20 (8/10) Road Rash is probably the best motorcycle racer on the Amiga and a very competent conversion from the Sega Megadrive. There is a lot of substance here when it comes to the gameplay and the technical aspects are, if not spectacular, perfectly fine. This is a somehow underrated classic (8/10). View all comments (212)
ScartDeluxe2016-03-17 (10/10) My initial thoughts of Road Rash was that it was pretty jerky and probably wouldn't be any good. Oh, but it is though. It's brilliant! Once the game sucks you in, the jerky graphics aren't a bother at all, and I learned to appreciate how much attention had gone into the realism of the game. I feel every twist, turn and hill in this game. Each of the courses have their own character, and I found them easy to memorise. Then there's the fighting aspect, and the cop dodging, weapons and avoiding traffic. Oh yes, this is a wonder of a game. Ignore it at your peril. It is however worth mentioning that the megadrive version is superior, especially if you can find Road Rash 3 or Skitchin. Such a shame EA pretty much ignored the AGA and beyond amigas. I'd even go as far as describe it as a blatant betrayel of the machine that put them on the map. View all comments (23)
Colonel Kurtz2009-08-22 (6/10) If it weren't for the whole biker-bashing business (which actually adds quite a bit to the fun), this would be a mediocre motorbike racing game, nothing compared to Super Hang-On. It is fun nonetheless.
Road Rash on the Amiga has some serious perspective issues. Objects don't scale well with distance, and it's the only racing game I've played where you crash into things you can't see because they're hidden from view by... Your own vehicle!
Also, computer-controlled opponents never crash into cars until you're already quite close to them. What's more, they do NOT attack each other, so your chances to see them make a mistake are considerably reduced, especially for ace pilots with more powerful bikes than yours. Same for the cops, who are basically contestants in disguise and have no interest in any other speeders than you.
Other than that and its substandard graphics and sound (except for the really cool title music) it's an enjoyable game. Also, having a password system like the Genesis version makes it a lot more relaxing. View all comments (274)
radioman9702008-04-03 (9/10) Easily one of my most played games on Amiga. They did a great job putting a lot of stuff in this game that made it fun to play and way beyond other racers of the time. It's my opinion, but I stand by my thought that the score for this should be waaay higher. I guess others are grading it against the versions from other platforms. For me this Amiga version was always the most fun to play.
SexyWayne2007-07-29 Pretty good conversion, tinny music tho, iirc the megadrive original's music wasn't much to shout about, the gameplay is still intact, the only thing that lets it down is the fairly long loading times when played off floppy, much better if played with whdload View all comments (19)
sonus032007-05-12 (7/10) Not bad, just not excellent either. The music was pretty naff, the graphics were only average but the gameplay was there. The best bit was knocking that 'Biff' fella off his bike and flirting with Natasha, at 140mph. View all comments (64)
raven2006-12-26 The MegaDrive game and its sequels are still really fun to play, the game physics were so perfect that anything is possible in races. I have never managed to play the Amiga version but it certainly looks the part. View all comments (132)
The1-2-Beat2006-06-11 (10/10) Good fun this one. Nothing like crusing up to someone, being blocked and knocking them off at the next turn. Multi player action too. Good stuff. View all comments (24)
stooart2005-11-30 (6/10) This was an OK racer with the added beat em up factor but it wasn't really all that exciting in the long run. View all comments (524)
Inferno2005-05-27 (7/10) Good conversion from the Megadrive, looks slightly better than the original and plays nearly as good. Which is as good as bizarre motorcycle games get on the Amy, and that's more than enough. View all comments (233)
