I would give this a 5, possibly a 6 with two player mode. I think the pacing hurts this game. It feels so slow moving through the level, then you have the width of the level to contend with. No variety in the foot soldiers, no going back down the screen. Vehicles which have to be destroyed to move the screen forward. I can see the appeal, it just wasn't executed well enough.

If truth be told Commando, arcade or home ports were over rated and only Rob Hubbard's music on C64 made it worth playing. Games like Ikari Warriors would blow Commando away!

Watch Tower came just at the right moment in time when the Commando genre was all but lost to history and this was AGA ONLY! As it turned out Watch Tower was an awesome game with very polished arcade style mechanics crying out for that one more go every time you played! A lot of thought had gone in to it for high score freaks allowing the best Rambo players to shine. What most people failed to notice was this game was displaying a game area at least 4 times bigger than anything before it. It was also not slow because people failed again to notice the screen area on view was MASSIVE so it would take twice as long to travel the same distance on your 14" screens.

Only thing that was missing was a rocking sound track, but if you had a nice mig you could add a custom sound track by using any audio CD you like while playing the game at the same time! The Sound FX were spot on.

This was the best Commando clone in my book, just released at a time when most of the Commando players had moved on or never had a A1200 to play it. Give it an honest go, you may even like it!

Badly-designed and frustrating to play, a little tweaking (and a bit more speed) could have made this compete with classic arcade games like "Commando". As it is, this is an extremely average game with little to recommend it. A shame.

I once thought this was poor... But seeing "War Zone" a game 5 years before this one I changed my mind! It is awful!

The game is nice. Really good fun for many hours. The only thing I can't figure out is why the first level guardian is such a pain in the ass (in comparison with the other ones).
