One of my little favs. The music was the main reason for playing and the otherwise cool gfx and effects. It was a little hard if I remember right. 9/10

One of the best multi-scrolling shmups! And there is also parts with ordinary side-scrolling, variative bosses and so on, so it's not borings - just you have to like shoot 'em ups, which are all quite the same.

There is also great gfx, music and overall atmosphere of alien world. Great game, 9/10.

Unconventional and decent shooter let down a bit by the slightly awkward rotational control system... Another flaw was the lack of money to spend in the shop stages. Also you had to choose between music or sfx which was a shame too.
Had some good varaition of shooting styles and smooth scrolling though - 7/10. I don't believe it to be quite as bad as Amiga Power thought!

An ok multi-directional scrolling shooter which turned out to be just average. Looked ok and played well at first but there was no real lastabilty in this.

Blastar is a really amazing shoot'em up,one of the best space shooters available for the Amiga.
The techno/trance soundtrack is great, the tunes in this game can easily beat most techno artists out there.
The graphics are great too.
There are multiway-,horizontal- and vertically scrolling levels.
The gameplay may be somewhat repetitive, but so is the case in all shoot'em ups.
The only bad thing I can think of is the collision detection routine in the sideways scrolling levels.
But overall,Blastar is one of the best games available for the Amiga, and Core Desing Limited was one of most talented Amiga developers out there.
I can't understand all these negative comments that you folks have written about this game.
Graphics - 10
Music -10
Sound effects(if turned on) - 5
Playability - 9
Overall - 10

It is too difficult to tell the difference between the ememies and the backgrounds and it just doesn't feel right to play either.

Even though this game had some decent GFX and sound, it did repeat itself over & over again thinking something would come up trumps after it & it never did, bit poor but yet I've seen worse.

This is a really pretty game, but all you do is fly around aimlessly and shoot at things which are hard to avod crashing into. Another overhyped game from Core.
