I really wanted to like Battletoads on Amiga... Not many beat-em-ups on the system.. Nice graphics.. Nice frame-rate... But the controls/gameplay are terrible... Music has no tune at all and is quite repetitive to an annoying level...

The NES version of this game became legendary due to its difficulty. Although I did manage to get through four or five levels (which I guess is nothing) in the Amiga version, I didn't feel compelled to struggle to complete the remaining ones. The Battletoads themselves lacked charisma. In their attempt to appear more gross and grotesque than the Ninja Turtles but equally funny, they kind of failed where Earthworm Jim succeeded (I speak of the respective cartoon series as well).

I would have loved a port of the arcade game instead, as it focused on the beat'em up component and beefed it up quite a lot. On second thought, given the fate of that genre on Amiga, perhaps we're better off with this mediocre brawler/platform/shoot'em-up hybrid.

This port is so bad. On Nes this game was pretty good, but on Amiga it sucks, wanna know why? Controls are so bad it's literally impossible to play, you need two buttons for this game not just one!

Combat mechanics are clunky and limited to punch and kick. Minimal effort was spent on the graphics as well by the looks of it. The whole game looks suspiciously like a direct port from the Nintendo Entertainment System. A really disappointing release that does not utilize the Amiga's potential.

Poor gfx, bad movement, slow scrolling and naff combat just about sums up this pile of shoyte. I mean, 1992???

While on the NES this game wasn't all that bad, by Amiga standards it's just plain aweful. The fun character antics are totally destroyed by the extremely small sprites, and colorless graphics. Really a sad effort at what could have been a great Final Fight clone.
