The PC version was absolutely brilliant - unique and captivating, and one of my favourite games at the time. Unfortunately, this Amiga port was pretty awful. The controls didn't translate well to joystick, and the speed suffered too.
And what happened with the visuals?. Half of the graphics are ported directly from the 16 colour PC original - which had a clinical, businesslike feel which really tied in with the subject matter. However, the rest of the graphics have been completely re-done in 32 colours, with a garish, cartoony feel. They look *terrible*. The two contrasting styles clash harshly, completely destroying the atmosphere.
If you can get past that, most of the game itself survived unscathed, and the wiretapping and cryptography sub-games are as engaging as they ever were. But if you want to play this game properly, but you should track down the PC version on play it in Dosbox, it's *much* better than this.
6/10.

Excellent game. I used to play this one on my Amiga in 1994 or so. Even liked it more than civ. Searching the safehouses is the thing that I like the most in this game.

Let's be honest (HEY, I always am), I only played that one on MS-DOS. And this summer. But I discovered a formidable game, and I'm certain I would have loved it on the Amiga.
"Crackdown" plus "Chicago 90" plus "Hacker", plus "Extase", plus some deciphering stuff, and an ever-changing plot to unveil, and personalized enemies (I always wanted my computer enemies to have a name and a face at which to yell gotcha when I brought one down), suspense, strategy, decisions, acts, consequences... I can't praise that game enough. So many possible ways to find so many crucial informations, and so many ways to use them. Trying to put a face on a name or the other way round, to identify elements of a worldwide plot and either spying on them to get more elements, to understand their role in the conspiracy, or stopping them by fear that they already fulfil their part. Following a person, arresting her or tapping her phone, in order to find out who her contact is, or what other organisation is involved... Oh DAMN. These are just words.
It's a good game.
