Note for the readers : This is is full of bugs in the ECS and AGA releases, many files are BROKEN, and this game is IMPOSSIBLE to finish in german, french and italian.

It's currently fully reworked !

My jaw had already dropped for Heimdall, so its sequel didn't impress me as much upon release, more so because it lacked an awesome introduction and epic title music. But I must admit it had almost everything in the right places.

Inventory management was made much more sensible and the spell system was brilliantly reworked. Some RPG elements such as party construction were removed and combat was integrated with the main interface, hence consecrating Heimdall 2 to the back-then-undefined hack 'n slash genre (something I frankly wasn't too happy about). There's even more variety than in its predecessor, and the story evolves much quicker along the various quests and subquests. Most puzzles, however, are not very challenging at all: when you don't solve them by wits, you solve them with a little trial and error. Finally, not much was done about the average ingame sound.

Can't really say which of the two is better, though. I guess it's all up to the player's tastes. Personally, even though most of its drawbacks were addressed in this sequel, the first Heimdall is still the one that won my heart.

Great graphics, decent game but the sound was very sparse and disappointing - 8/10

One of the best action RPG style of games. The fight's are extremely easy once you get a little experience, and most of the spells aren't really needed, but the puzzles are fun, the dialogue is excellent (and rather flippant) and you just can't help get sucked into the atmosphere

Heimdall 2 is absolutly excellent sequel. Authors managed to fix almost all the flaws of the predecessor. Fight system is not as original as before but finally playable, enjoyable and reasonable. Inventory is much bigger which is also good. Unfortunatelly the riddles and adventures are relatively easy (even too easy) and sometimes seem disconnected from the main story while in "Heimdall" they were building the whole story themselves. Similar to "Heimdall" the weak side of this game are sound effects. They are very limited. Ingame music would be also a nice touch. Nevertheless, this is still an excellent game.

Nice story, nice jokes, nice puzzles (but the seeds one is unfair as the clues given are not sufficient to restrict the choice to just one combination), nice interface (although getting used to movement controls takes a while).
Very good code, good graphics (with ups and downs - nothing special, overall), little sound.
Maybe a bit too easy (in fact, magics and money are rendered practically useless), but this gives the possibility to have a pleasant experience to who does not have enough time to face a demanding adventure.

Great Action/RPG. Many nice features, many places to visit and nice graphics. I like the the possibility to switch over your two characters, from Heimdall to that Valkyrie and otherwise. Great game, not superb, but great! 8/10

I loved the games by the 8th day, the heimdall series & premiere although its a shame they didn't do much more after that. Where are they now? Anyway this game had really nice looking GFX & exceptional gameplay. Would love to see the series come out on other platforms like next gen consoles
