Nice open world sort of rpg / adventure, atmosphere at dozens but very little interactivity with npcs and the likes, very good until you start to get that void feeling, just like the second chapter

Not as sophisticated as Dungeon Master or EotB, because you do not micromanage and don't interact with the 3D world. Still, I liked Ishar very much, maybe beause it mostly takes place on an overworld. Very French in graphics style and gameplay. Ishar is a good RPG, and I played part 2 and 3 on the PC, but unlike DM or EotB I will probably not play it again.
P.S.: Lemon Amiga lists this as an AGA game, but I am sure I had this as an OCS version on a standard 1 Meg Amiga 500.

The non-AGA version of this was one in a stack of pirated games I received from an ad in Amiga World. Man, what a disappointment! I actually got a little depressed from that experience because I knew the Amiga market was having problems.
Well, I played that pirated copy and just adored the hell out of it. Still, among my most favorite gameplaying experiences of all time. The forests were just lovely, so much different from the forest rooms of EOB series. It's biggest weakness is the NPC that don't have enough animation. But that hardly matters.
A classic. 9/10.
NOTE: I bought the 2 sequels from legit stores.

Hardcore part one of trilogy - without a map in it! You'll have to gain orientation through landmarks. Very unusual thing in games, worth of testing

Excellent graphics but quite difficult if I remember rightly 6/10

Very good though the second part was much better. Not the best idea with Action icons. Luckily this was fixed in the following parts of the saga.

One of those RPG that were on my To Play list, but never got to play valuely, just remember this type of inference, got me lost so easily. Silmarils released sequals quicker than I could complete the original.
