I actually found this a lot of fun for a short period of time. I can't for the life of me remember if I had the Amiga version or the PC. I think Amiga.

Lame shooter and no match for STARGLIDER.

Dynamix culled their Amiga releases directly from the ms-dos (vga) versions once the PC market had taken off. As a consequence, little to no improvement was made to the code to employ the original 7mhz motorola cpu more reasonably.
stellar 7 was a fun blast on upgraded Amigas however. Less involving than (the equally sluggish) Articfox, but intriguing due to the diverting (if hardly original) sci-fi narrative that's missing from the original 8-bit version.

Back in the mid 80s on 8 bit computers this was a pretty good game. Basically Battlezone on acid. But the Amiga port suffered from sloppy programming (a standard of Dynamix games on the Amiga) which lead to the game being intolerably slow. A real shame.
