Being a man of the ship is difficult. But being the only man of the ship is even more difficult. These words basically describe what you get when playing "Destroyer". Some might like it, some might not. The worst thing here is that this game is almost 1 to 1 conversion of C64 version. I don't have anything against C64 but Amiga had better capabilities and could do a lot more than squeeky sounds and mediocre graphics. Great game for 8-bit, poor (not pure) fun for 16-bit.

I remember perfectly well playing Destroyer on my C64 ... And I played it quite often as far as I remember. I liked bringing down Aircrafts most. When I played it on WinUAE I must say that it lost most of the fun because of difficult handling and the rather bad gfx ... But thinking about the release date ... It was a highlight back on C64. So ... It was nice to shoot down some planes but I think it will only be played in my memory of the good old times.
