Full Metal Planete is a faithful conversion of the original boardgame (now very hard to find) of the same name. Turn-based. I used to like this game a lot and it's great fun in multiplayer.

Pretty nice turn-based strategy game. Four, identical factions land on a metal rich planet. Each start with few light tanks, a heavy tank, couple of patrol boats, constructor unit, a harvester unit and a HQ with 3 turrets mounted. The objective is to gather as much metal as possible before the turn limit is reached. Ofcourse there will be confrontations with the rival factions which is absolutely impossible to evade on this terribly small planet.

The combat system is very unique i.e a single tank is completely useless and poses no threat what so ever. You need two tanks to kill an enemy target, one to target and another to fire. Each turn the planets tides alter which can cause boats to strand and tanks to sink, although it doesn´t kill the units it immobilizes them.

You can leave the planet at any given time and your score will be measured according to the resources you´ve gathered so far. If your HQ is successfully destroyed you lose and get no score. The constructor can produce new harvesters or light tanks at cost of metal resources.

The sad thing about this game is it's very fun to play and has great potential but it is limited to a single map and a small selection of units. You can produce light tanks but there is only 1 heavy tank and 2 boats per faction, a faction can have up to 4 heavy tanks if it manages to steal the heavy tanks from the other factions, if I remember correctly you need to have 3 units adjacent to the target to do so.
