I remember enjoying playing this in 1987. Even though the playability has its shortcomings, an interesting game with nice graphics and music, so considering the year it gets 7/10.

How did they mess this up? The graphics are good but everything that made the 8-bit versions work has been screwed-up. Gone is the eight-way control, inexplicably replaced with only four directions you can move in. Gone is the in-game music and most of the sound effects. For some reason, Learic moves smoothly when going up and down but jerkily when moving left and right. Oh, and Learic's home is now nestled amidst an annoying hedge-maze making starting out frustrating. And Learic keeps being unable to move past the edge of some screens because of some unseen barrier. And the plants which were bold and obvious on the 8-bit versions are now small and obscured.
Stick to the much-better ZX Spectrum and C64 versions of this game. This Amiga port has broken everything.

This game brings fond memories for me. I played it first on my trusty old Atari 800xl from a gametape. The Atari version was only brown colored, but I loved walking around the, at the time, huge playfield. The Amiga version made it even more colourful. And the music, well... For me it's simply a classic.

Ok played this firstly on Spectrum and now the Amiga version. It came with speccy on a free game tape and it was one of the most addictive games I had for a while. Basicaly you have to find plants to make spells and then use the spells and try and destroy your evil wizard brother
Good game
