I remember demoing this in a store as I was interested in buying it, but this version got everything about porting a classic 8bit game to 16bits wrong. Needless to say, I put it back.

All the same problems that plague Manic Miner but lacking the names of the rooms (meaning Amiga owners are denied the wonderfully named "We Must Perform A Quirkafleeg" ) and lacking a version of the original 8-bit game as Manic Miner had.

Really missed opportunity. 3/10

My opinion: a bucket of slops.

Oh, the humanities!

The fact that it was big and bold was a nice touch, but if you hadn't played the original (shame on you!) you'd wind up jumping into spikes or baddies you didn't know were coming due to the small playing area. It was fun seeing all those monochrome gfx jazzed up tho.

Looks nice, shame about the collision detection which flactuates really badly: sometimes you die even though not touching an enemy by many pixels, sometimes you and an enemy can be over each other. Maybe a tad too big graphics. 5/10

Bit disappointing in places but fans of the original would be OK with it I would imagine
