Like After Burner, but without the plane sprite, and with a lot of pointless "strategy" elements bogging it down. Kong Daddy says that the engine "is fast but doesn't work really", and I think that the sprites are the problem - they just zip by underwhelmingly and are often hard to make out, and their movement patterns are sometimes incomprehensible.
Overall, I'd say that ShockWave is a pretty unremarkable game.

Like all Digital Magic games this looks much better in screenshots than actually running. The 3D effect is fast but doesn't work really, and in the end it just disappoints really.
