A complete ripoff of Dino Eggs, but the music really sets this game apart. I made a comparison video of Jochen Hippel's amazing title track, comparing it to Jogeir Liljedahl's tune called Nearly There. [www]

Jochen Hippel's intro theme for A Prehistoric Tale is one of the best tracks of game music ever composed on the Amiga. You will find many remixes of it on the world wide web. Many musicians say they were influenced by his work during the 8-bit and 16-bit computer era.

A Prehistoric Tale is clearly inspired by Dino Eggs by Micro Fun on the Commodore 64 (see review on Lemon 64!). Actually it's more of a copy, it's almost the same. I really loved Dino Eggs in my youth. The simple concept was worked out really well and the game was very original. When playing A Prehistoric Tale I just saw the same game, slightly less fun and just not up to the level of the 1990 games (Dino Eggs is from 1983!!!). Irritating music keeps going on and on and after a while you just turn off your sound. Something positive about this game is the two player option, which is a nice touch. All in all not a good game which lacks the atmosphere of the "original".
