Borrows to xevious (the rotating plates) and some of the background seem very inspired by terra cresta, the action is sometimes confusing and it's an almost 1:1 port from the ST version but there wasn't much better shmups (or even good ones for that matter) on the amiga in 1987.

This game was in no way innovative or spectacular but I quite liked it. It came along in the early days of the Amiga and I bought it because I liked shoot'em ups and the only other one I had was Goldrunner. There isn't much that can be said about this game other than that it's simple. It's the perfect game for playing when you're doing something else like watching the telly or talking on the phone. Think of it as an entertaining distraction. It has some kind of charm because 19 years have gone by and I still play it and now I have to go to the trouble of emulating an Amiga to do so. Back in the day I played Typhoon a lot, perhaps more than was warranted, and as a result I have a soft spot in my heart for it which is why I've scored it as high as I have. Oh well, I'm only human. Give it five minutes of your time if no other reason than to familiarize yourself with what games were like when the Amiga first hit the scene.
