Lethal Zone could simply be identified as "THE GAME THAT YOU DO NOT EXPECT". Little known this shooter is a perfect example of a professional game. Solid graphically and well cared for under the audio aspect, it also offers first-rate playability. Too bad there are only four stages, but after all we talk about a videogame given as a cover disk. The shoot'em-up coats can't ignore it ... Nice!

Very good game that I only discovered via emulation all these years after its prime. It has a very nice, fluid and frantic gameplay and the level design isn't bad at all (something that plagued many similar shoot'em-ups). Graphics and music are also quite nice. Sure, it's derivative and unoriginal, but as a fun and fast shoot'em-up, this is quite entertaining. It's a bit on the easy side, though. Once you learn the enemy patterns, you can just switch the auto-fire on and stroll through the game. Even the proverbial end-of-level bosses are way too easy.

Classic Peter Elson "PE" painting for the cover.. Check his work here:

[www]

He's had a profound influence on sci-fi imagery. Just look at Homeworld.. His name is even used in the game.

haven't played this game.. I just love Peter Elson!

Okay shooter, if a bit short at 4 stages. But then again it was free.

@Dan Good call on the plagiarism here. I just looked it up...and laughed.

Have not played this yet so I won't rate...

I've played few shoot-em-ups this dull, both graphically and in terms of design. The plagiaristic title screen (taken from the cover for To Open the Sky, by Robert Silverberg) doesn't do it any favors either.

Nice shooter. I think I got this free on a magazine cover tape.

Anyway - for a freebie it wasn't bad and was more playable than many full price offerings.

Was quite a short game though.

Nice little shmup converted from 8 bit with perfect animation (which makes it more valuable than an overhyped crap like xenon 2 in my book), the gameplay is a rather boring affair and it's on-par with Project X's.
