The Amiga never did get an official port of Pole Position so this game, along with F17 challenge and to a lesser extent Grid Start, filled that gap. This has to be my personal favourite of the 3 in giving me that PP style of play on my Amiga.

I enjoyed this one more than Chase HQ (which I got in the same day, I think). Still, this is far from being the Amiga's finest racer. Quite average in every way.

I remember the arcade counterpart to have a mind blowing explosion when you crashed, unfortunately this wasn't transferred to the Amiga. It was a mediocre racer though if you like Formula One.

Very mediocre game when it comes to gfx and sound but with an addictive simple qualifying system and quite playable.
- The text announcing "extended time" really does couse you to crash becouse it blocks your sight.
- The 5th or 6th race suddenly become really hard in comparison with other races which is frustrating.
- Adversaries are too often crammed together in a turn, thus making it hard to pass them. Result: crash.
- And then something strange...:
A few times, when i was going great, an adversary passed me by when i was going full speed (which should be impossible), hits his brakes and just crashed into me kamikaze-style!! As if the game suddenly turns against you. Not fair-play! Makes you think...;-)

Conclusion; Sound & Gfx are mediocre but the qualifying system got me hooked for a while.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this but when you get extended time "EXTENDED" is displayed over the track often causing a crash! Also the engine smoking after one bump is a bit extreme. 6/10 Haywire

Another less than average coin-op conversion, but still there's some playability in it due to the original game good ideas.
Unfortunately on the Amiga there are also many problems too which affect the game, like the poor visuals (the Monaco circuit should have a tunnel section showed also in the map, but there isn't!) for example or the not perfect difficulty level setting (the game becomes frustrating very soon).
If you're looking for a good F1 arcade racing game go for the far better realized F17 Challenge instead.

Continental Circus is such a great racing game which you would go into the position of the rankings which you need to qualify to get to that ranking to go to the next race under the time limit which is a bit unusual. Also getting hit by cars is also unusual, you just need to drive quickly to get to the next pit without hitting them the second time otherwise you'll lose your time limit. It gets a lot hard when you go into the next couple of races because the circuit gets a bit harder. But still are great racing game, nice graphics, sounds and tunes are great.
