Certainly miles better than the first Crazy Cars (I'm appalled that they have almost the same average score here), but miles better still wasn't good enough. Same improvement as the Fire & Forget series, which walked pretty much in its footsteps... It just wasn't quite there yet.

It was a hit on the cpc because of the gfx which looks like a 16bit game on that support.

Very, very poor quality game. Nothing but frustration.

I remember enjoying this game to a certain degree. But, oh boy, what a different III makes. This isn't worth playing after you've advanced to III. It's not like the Lotus series where each is worth playing for difference reasons. The 3rd one is an Amiga classic, the other 2 are potholes.

I thought the first Crazy Cars was a very bad game. Crazy Cars III though is very good, so I thought, the second version may find itself in between these two games quality-wise. Well, after playing the game today, I can conclude that such reasoning isn't the right way of thinking! Crazy Cars II is one of the worst Amiga games I've had the misfortune to play. Except for the beautiful starting screen, things fall apart very quickly. For example, I missed an options-screen or at least a screen saying "get ready" or something. You hit the button and after the starting screen you are immediately thrown into your Ferrari F40 with the clock ticking! In the game, the first thing I noticed was that the graphical quality of the first screen isn't carried on into the game itself. With a minimal number of objects and details everything looks very dull! I'd rather see the random scattering of pixels along the side of the road like in Crazy Cars I, than this. And then there's the handling. The steering is so badly designed that when you start to steer it is almost impossible to get your supercar in a straight line again. And if that isn't enough, hitting any object or police car after gaining some speed will cause your car to explode! A very realistic touch! So, do yourself a favour and never ever play this game. If you want to play a Crazy Car title, skip the first two and go straight to number three!
Graphics: 4/10
Sound: 4/10
Playability: 1/10
Overall: 2/10

Euuurgh. This was totally unplayable! Terrible control method! Crash at nearly every damn corner! Nuff said.

One of the games that came with my Amiga when I bought it. The others beeing Leaderboard and Hollywood Poker. Unfortunately this was by far the worst. The title screen looks promising, but that is all the joy you will get from this game.

Horrible controls and a constant 'swerving' feeling means that this game is an instant no-no. The Graphics could also be a lot better (though they are better than on the first game in the series). If oyu want a car racing game, try something (anything!) else...
