Really nice adventure game that is still playable today, mainly due to its low difficulty level. Your mission is to survive a holiday trip with friends that quickly turns into a nightmare. Furthermore you need to appeal to your friend Laura. I found the latter hard though, seems whatever you do the plot and ending stays exactly the same. No source on the net seems to have a solution to this part of the game, either, if there actually is a solution. 9/10

Dear Lemonamiga adult filter: you see more nudity at a beach than in this game. You won't be able to make children grow up prude by hiding this game from them, so give up already. Anyway, if you know German and don't mind all the text, the game is worth playing. Good, "realistic" graphics for that time and an interesting plot.

My brain is collapsing in on itself trying to make sense of the convoluted first sentence in that intro screen. Whoever wrote this is bad at sentence structure. Why not simply phrase it like this: "Von all den bedeutenden Umwälzungen des 20. Jahrhunderts versprechen zwei besonders, uns dem Geheimnis um das menschliche Sein näherzubringen"? Also, "American Quarterly Journal Of Medical And Experimental Science" doesn't sound right. Medicine is a field of science. Experiments (clinical trials in medicine) are a scientific method. There is no such thing as "Experimental Science".

This is a German adventure game. The story is not bad, but it reads as if it has been written by a horny teenager (maybe it was). What's interesting about this game is that it is basically a story with lots of text and still graphics, and very little interaction and minimal item amagement, few branching points. The focus is clearly on the story, with a bit of interaction. Genre-wise, this is clearly a "visual novel", a genre which is tremendously important in Japan, but almost unknown outside Japan. So Holiday Maker and it's follow-up "Stadt der Loewen" are an evolutionary dead-end in western gaming history.

Theres a funny part when you are supposed to hack into a remote computer and some guy informs you that "there are about 8 mainframe computers linked to each other in the world" or some such shit.

Holiday Maker, and also the later Stadt der Loewen, is worth trying out if you can read German and have an interest in adventures or visual novel type games.
