Cybernoid is a very, very good game designed by Raffaele Cecco who also designed one of my all-time 8-bit favorites Equinox, and also other classics such as Exolon, Stormlord, First Samurai. Cybernoid - The fighting machine looks very 8-bit, especially on the Amiga, but in a good way. The graphics are simple and lo-res but full of style. This kind of mechanical / biological design is something which I miss in current games. You play a cute little spaceship which has to make its way through underground caverns full of mechanical and biological enemies. Imagine a hard-core version of Mr Heli no Daibouken without the scrolling! Gameplay is very hard, but fair. It reminds of games such as the Contra series. The sound effects are superb and fit the game, but apparently there is no music whatsoever. Overall Cybernoid is on the same level of genius as Cecco's previous masterpieces, especially Equinox. Gameplay requires skill, concentration and keeping your wits together. A masterpiece!

A very under-appreciated game on the Amiga for some reason. True, it is certainly a challenge, but it's a game that rewards persistence and skill. It's not impossible and generally speaking it's your own fault if you die. The flip-screen format does have its limitations and it can get repetitive but it's a slick, enjoyable title on the whole.

A quality game which is, imho, better than any other version... The C64 can go to hell!

yes, it's hard but it's also beautiful, with wonderful SFX (the reversed metal sound thing... Oooh it makes me tingle!) and music which is simply classic.

if you are stuggling getting to grips with it, and feel the need to slate it because of it.... Take the advice that you get when you die on level 1.... "Stick to Space Invaders"

Nice ingame tune, but not so good to play. Just like the sequel.

I loved the music for part 2. I liked to play it on the C=64, never tried it on the Amiga tho'.

I never considered the Cybernoid series as much of a game - it was more like a demo. Great graphics and sound - but difficulty nigh on impossible.....
