I'm surprised that the graphics look drawn from scratch and not just copied from the arcade original and then retouched, although the sprites are now too bulky and strange looking.

Could have been much better. I was surprised to see that the game is slowing down in some areas considering the very simple C64-like graphics!
5/10

The 8/16 bit Contra games are awesome. Like Castlevania the original outstanding Konami playability is lost in translation but there's no reason why this should also look worse than the NES version!

I remember buying this for $1.99 at Software Etc. Back in the early 90s. Man I paid too much for it.

The original arcade release was called Super Contra.
This game is the sequel to Gryzor (also known as Contra), which was never released on the Amiga.
