Complex strategy game set in a very far future. I remember that I absolutely loved this, because of the graphic design, artwork, general style as well as the gameplay. To me, Deuteros was one of the most logical and complex strategy games in the early nineties.

Now, going back to it, I can hardly figure out what to do! It's just too abstract and feels like playing a spreadsheet.

There is definitely a very good strategy game hidden in Deuteros, but be aware that "strategy" here means something very, very different from todays strategy games. The representation of the game world is even more abstract than in Nobunaga's Ambition and I am not sure if this is a good thing!

Great game, and one of the first games I had patience to finish when I was a kid the atmosphere is un paralelled, though the strategy element may be kind of lacking as it all depends on resource management.

Great follow up to the Millennium, but i felt Millennium had a better goal of trying to get back to earth, where this one the ending was kind of.. I dont know... Unfinished. Felt like you just played and played and then it just ended with an animation loop. Cool... But left me wanting more! Excelent atmosphere! One of my fav's!

Not sure how to put an entry in the 'Hints or cheats' section so

*****hint/cheat follows****

The methanoids attack from outside the system and work in towards the companion star. They have to capture one of your bases to rebuild a fleet. Put a single orbital frame arount the outermost planet/moon of a system and the little b***ers can't get in! Then mop up the other fleets. Or just build drones like crazy....

Better strategic game on Amiga and on others computers, surfing the net I noticed there is a sort of cult about this game, it is a Mith, and it is all deserved, I have passed some of my funniest hours resolving it, and I still remember it as my favourite SciFi game. The atmosphere is yet unreached, cant explain it, it is not Alien, not Blade Runner, not Star Trek, it is all this! A great one, to be remembered and preserved for the next generations...

PS the only bad-side is that the End-Sequence, is not as good as that of its prequel (that fantastic white Silos in a yellow field of grain..., here's there is only a ... OK just discover yourself!)

Like others have said, this game had an awesome atmosphere. The first time I encountered a Methanoid base, I was shocked, like a cat in a hedge. But the game had problems, the main one being that there were too many 'triggers', and if you missed one, the game would become impossible.

Great game..Second episode of Millenium, it happens much later than millenium...You can even repair the old abandonned station on moon from Millenium 2.2 !!
However, much more difficult, but great... Ergonomy is good, easy to play...Haven't finished it unlike millenium, but seems very long ! And there are part of adventure in this game, and it's fantastic when the Aliens write you and that's you do your best to be able to translate their messages by doing some research... Lovely game!

Nice game, but it seems unfinished. I remember getting very far and then you just couldn't do anything else.

This is fun for a while and you think you are doing well. Then the aliens invade you with a bazillion battleships and you die.

Static Graphics, very little sound and no action. But this has to be one of the most atmoshpheric games of all time. You can keep your Rome: Total War, I play Deuteros please.
