Another favourite! First experienced this game on the C64 and when I eventually got my hands on this for the Amiga I was excited and then slightly let down, hence the 8. Just didn't feel the same somehow and I can't quite put my finger on it. Still go back to the C64 version even now, probably more than the Amiga version.

The many comments below probably said all there is to say about Flimbo's Quest but one thing : the soundtrack is great. The tracks fit the mood perfectly and are all well composed and arranged with a careful selection of top quality samples. I only wish there would have been one or two additional ingame tunes to add a bit more variety.

Clearly an 8 bits game adapted to 16 bits computers. This version offers much better musics (really great tunes from "Maniac Of Noise" label), detailed and colored graphics compared to the old C64 and smooth animation, so and I think that if you never played it AMIGA version is the best one. Sorry C64 players but once again you are blinded by nostalgia
Nevertheless, a nice game for kids back in 1990, but a little bit boring in hindsight.

I just love this game. Have a great music, and the graphics kind of cute. The whole game reminds me the Hawkeye as you collect letters etc.
I have to admit I played with trainer all the time, knowing games like this are impossible to finish without unlimited lives. (Or I'm jut that lamer... Lol)
It was one of the first game I had when I finally bought my Amiga 500 back in 1990. Maybe that's why I love it so much....

Agreed. Play the C64 version over this. When I did, I felt like I had exploded into butterflies.

Go play the Commodore 64 version. This version just isn't right at all.

Good concept, but the lack of any boss fights makes it a bit dull. Plus some of the stages recquire you to kill an enemy that spawns really infrequently to get the much needed scroll. Sometimes you can get three scrolls in a minute, others you can spend over ten minutes just trying to get one.
The last stage really confuses you with the ledges in the background that look like they're in the foreground, which will more often then not result in your death.
And finaly, I wish there was more then one weapon to use in the entiere game, because even the "super weapon" just makes your regular shots slightly more powerfull, and you're gonna get killed by some low flying gargoyle's more often then you'd like.
Overall, I'd say this is good, but it's just too frustrating to wholeheartedly recommend.

Once again, I liked the commy's nice cutesy look on this game. The Amiga version was nice but lacked that overall feel. Still, a great game by any measure but I prefer the C64 version.

"Yea" can download this game from many places, but I prefer Amiga Emulation Universe.
It's terrible, though, so don't bother.

Like other System 3's games, very nice on 8bit and unimpressive on 16.

Love flimbos quest, been playing it a lot on the c64 and amiga emulators. The music the graphics and game play are bang on. I prefer the c64 version the most.

One of my favourites on C64

Ah yes, good old flamboyant Flimbo! Played a huge amount of this on the C64 and enjoyed it - booting it up on the Amiga was like putting on your glasses, i.e. Same game but everything looked clearer and better! Good playability, good music, good fun. 7/10

I loved this on the C64 and I love the Amiga version just as much especially the stereo remixs of the C64 tunes!
Great game, tough but not too tough if your carefull! The powerups are your friends in the later levels.
Bought myself a new competition pro 5000 for this game this christams and Flimbos quest has become my most played game of christmas 2005.
Highly Recommended!
10/10

A really nice platformer in my opinion. Not much bad things to say. Stages are small places in which you try to collect scrolls in order to get to next stage. Each stage has its own nice graphics and there are lots of cute enemies to kill.

Well this was a basic and standard platform game, despite having some nice GFX to look at the games design was a bit boring.

I always had high hopes for a truly great Amiga platformer, because I adored Super Mario on the Nintendo... But Flimbo's Quest was not that game, despite nice graphics.

This game didn't appeal to me when it first came out. It hasn't got any better since. Too "cute" for me.
