In fact the whole power up system in this game was (i think) badly thought as I found a fair few of them to be rather useless especially against baddies taking tons of hits to kill.
Just too hard and unforgiving (in an addictive kind of way of course).
It's a shame as it could've been a really recommendable shoot em up.
Oh and couldn't there be more than just one tune playing throughout the whole game eh?? 6/10

I vaguely remember this game from back in the day, but I had not played it until now. When I first fired it up, I liked the intro, And thought it added some nice ambience to what is essentially a run-of-the-mill vertical shooter. When I first started, I wasn't sure if I would like it. The somewhat cartoony, over-saturated look was a slight turn-off, but once I got going, I found that I really liked the look and the feel of the game. I actually found it to be fun. There were some let-downs, such as the power-ups being difficult to see. I often found my ship powered-up, but I never saw the actual power-up that I had inadvertently picked up. Overall, though, I would give this an 7/10

Frenetic tries to be a very conventional vertical shooter in the vein of the console games of the time but fails at having a good playability and replay value. It becomes soon impossibly frustrating because losing one life means losing all weaponry and this, from the second level on, equals to game over. Just a bad game design decision that spoils a game that does not look or sound bad at all. Persistence might be rewarding but the game is just not motivating enough (6/10).

An unessential shooter by the usually more inspired Core Design.

This was very frenetic but would've been a lot better if you didn't lose ALL your powers ups when you were killed, which made it really hard to progress further - especially on the really hard later levels. I liked the meaty sound and the variation in the speed of the scrolling though - but just too hard and unforgiving 6/10

There is too much going on in this shooter - The Graphics could be a lot better too, whilst sound is ok. Its strangely addictive for a while, but it's hard to make any progress on this, due to the difficulty level. Could have been a really good game, but as it stands, its only just above average.

This is a cool shoot em up! Kool graphics and soundtrack. This game was one of the first game I ever played on an AMIGA...When I got my first AMIGA. It was an AMIGA 1000.

One of my favourites! Frenetic two player action!
Soundtrack was an original and strange metal tune...I loved it.
A lot of weapons, hundreds of aliens, wonderful end level bosses.
